Description
1929 JD Harley & sidecar
The last year of the JD model. This older restoration is a 74 cubic inch, lectric model, ith a 3 speed transmission. This bike has the classic twin headlights, uggage rack, 00mph speedometer and even has the original 1929 exhaust system. The bike starts, uns and shifts as it should. There are no reproduction parts on the bike - it's all genuine. I have never opened up the motor, nd I can't ask the previous owner but I don't think he did either. The bike was sold new in 1929 in Perth, estern Australia to a wheatbelt farmer, hen about 1975 it was purchased by an elderly motorcycle enthusiast who gave it a cosmetic restoration which included repainting. He rode it less than 500 miles in 10 years. In 1985, t the age of 90, e sold it to me. In the last 30 years I’ve ridden it less than 1,000 miles. I have reluctantly decided it is time to pass the bike on to a new owner to enjoy it like I have. My JD is not cheap, owever I believe I am asking a reasonable price for a bike of this rarity and completeness, nd one which I have the known provenance of. Please ask any questions prior to bidding as all sales are final, his bike is being sold, as is" there are no warranties included. I will pay for crating and shipping of the bike from Western Australiato Los Angeles to make it easier for US buyers. I'm also prepared to pay a similar amount towards shipping for buyers from Europe as well.I've been a member of the American Antique Motorcycle Association for nearly 20 years and are keen to see the bike go to a fellow enthusiast or collector who wants a real survivor. .On Oct-21-15 at 06:29:22 PDT, eller added the following information:
