Found in a Point Loma, A garage, his original US Navy scooter was believed to have been used at the Naval Air Station San Diego, ow known as NAS North island on Coronado. Built for the war effort and never registered as a civilian vehicle, hese scooters were commonly used for messengers and for internal transportation on large military bases. They oftencame with no lighting or brackets to save on materials. The US Navy accounting department tag is still in it's original condition, iveted to the frame near the footwell.Painstaking effort was taken to recover the original Navyregistrationnumber, hich was found under multiple layers of paint. The body is original and its unrestored condition is pictured as well as the completed restoration. The motor is a4 hp Cushman Husky (believed to be original) with a centrifugal clutch, he engine tag has also been left unrestored.I've had a lot of fun with this scooter over the last few years, ncluding winning the La Jolla Motorcar Classic event in April where it took 1st place in the motorcycle class. Not bad for an old scooter! This is a great authentic piece of American, utomotive, nd military history.
