2002 Aprilia RSV Mille(more images below the text)
Up for sale is my immaculate 2002 model year Aprilia RSV Mille which has become an expensive ornament in my garage as I only like to ride this bike in super dry conditions and we……. well we live in England so that’s 10% of the time! I have owned it since 2010 of which it has had 3 previous keepers. It benefits from a comprehensive service history of genuine parts and invoices (please see below) to back it up hence the price reflects its condition and history.
For a 2002 generation 1 RSV you won’t find better. The extras added include a Carbon Fibre Front Mudguard and Rear Hugger. a headlight cover which shows just one of the off centre headlights (looks the business when the headlight is on) and is easily removed and some small diamond indicators the rest of the bike is standard. The paint work is shiny. there is no rust or fuzzy parts around the engine and shock it really is a super example. There are very minor stone chips if you were to examine closely but that’s just being honest and commensurate with its age.
Having had bikes for over 20 years I got a little sick of waiting for the weather to improve so bought a Yamaha XJR1300 I could use in all conditions of which I haven’t been off it since. In fact I have only done a pathetic 121 miles on the RSV Mille since its last MOT in July last year…… I just don’t use it!
4 Months Tax. 6 Months MOT It has a valid MOT certificate to July 10th 2015 – with no advisories and TAX until the end of May 2015.
Service History & Invoices It has been serviced the majority of its life at its original selling dealership Andrew Machin Aprilia Centre in Lincoln with another service at V DUO Motorcycles. a Ducati/Aprilia specialist also in Lincoln before I became the owner. I use the great guys at Foleys Motorcycles in Fenton. Stoke on Trent and have for over 20 years.

Odometer currently reads 31. 59 so it’s only done 967 miles in the last 21 months…. I do this in two weeks in my car!
The bike is as straight as it comes and has no scrapes. scratches or knocks. The V-Twin engine pulls like a freight train and stops on its nose. Of the biker meetings and ride-outs I have attended on it. it sure does get a lot of admiring comments and still looks fresh and modern with today’s bikes.
There is only one downside to ownership of an RSV Mille. well indeed a high strung V-Twin engine such as this and it needs to be started regularly. If you’ve never owned one I’m preparing you that is allJ. It’s not a case of. well two weeks or so have gone by it will be alright…. It won’t! Start it and let it run up every week. it’s like a ritual. I learned the hard way. It ate the battery it came within 2010 within a month so I bought another. then another. then another. It was at this point I had had the alarm and immobiliser disconnected as I thought it was that. as it always gave off a pitiful flat beeping when starting the bike so I thought it was this. It wasn’t until I’d read up about Millie’s and Ducati’s been renowned for eating batteries when stood still. I got another battery and decent peak charger I simply leave on and it fires up now J. The alarm remains disconnected because…. well it sits in my garage and I’ve always been a social rider and never leave it anywhere. This is my way of saying whenever I thought to do it I couldn’t be bothered! I still have another bike so I will keep the peak charger but I will include the following….
Also included is…. Aprilia Bike Cover Paddock stands front and rear Spare original key All the above bills and receipts Service History Original owners manual
I don’t have need to sell the bike but as it is just sitting there looking pretty and not getting used. as I use my other bike. I want it to go to someone who will use it. The service history and condition reflects the price I believe.
Buyer to collect from the Stoke on Trent area. though I may be able to deliver within reason for small fee. Any test rides need a proof of insurance and the cash to be in my hand before even entertaining this…………… Ask me how I’ve learned my lesson with that one!
This is an honest a true reflection of the bike so forgive the long winded description but it’s always nice to have the majority covered to lesson any questions. but if there are please feel free to ask or if you want me to take any specific photos just contact me.
Thank you for looking.
