Aprilia RS250 Race Replica - NEW IN CRATE with TAGS

If you are reading this. you know all about this motorcycle. This is a race bike. not for street use. intended for track days or a racing series. It is a very limited and unique bike that was produced by Aprilia especially for the US market and the RS250 Cup Series. I always intended to transplant a 500cc engine into it. which is doable yet expensive. so it remained in a crate after being on display. My recommendation to the buyer would be to maintain the state of the bike and use as display. since anything 2-stroke. especially with this pedigree is only going up in value. Needless to say this is one of the best handing. best looking bikes ever made. especially in Aprilia's famous 'Replica' trim.  This particular 2002 model is one of the last RS250's to leave the factory in Noale. Italy. Not sure how many of these remain in this condition. but a source at Aprilia said that they don't have one at the factory and most on record have been and are being raced in the US. At last inspection. there is a small (1. 5cm long 2mm wide) scratch on the left side of the tail. which occurred during crating and I noticed a small scratch on swing arm. behind the pipes on right side. It is not in it's original crate. but in a crate I used for previous bikes. hence what looks to be an oil mark in the center. From the factory. this RS250 was delivered to a dealer in Lafayette. nbsp;Louisiana. This dealer ordered 2 of them. one to be raced by his son and this one. which he displayed for some time before storing. I purchased it in October. 2009 and in May 2010 shipped it via Chicago to London. ironically in a container with Corvette race cars destined for LeMans. Since then it has been crated and part of a collection in Marlow. outside of London. where it is available for viewing by appointment only. To my knowledge it has never been started. is currently 'dry' except for brake fluid.  It comes with a California title. owners and repair manuals. rear stand. spare sprockets and 2 keys. It has never been registered as it is a race bike. which allows for easy transport worldwide. However local pick-up is preferred. unless otherwise arranged.  Regardless of destination. shipping will always be at buyer's expense and responsibility.
