It is with deep regret that the time has come for me to sell my beautiful project bike. Having had RS250's for a number of years I decided to put together what you see here. The bike is a 1998 MK2 with a V5. The bike is currently SORN and the bike is clad in Tyga race fairings and painted to resemble Alex Dubons RSV250. Having been bitten by the Tyga bug and having tried different exhausts. I opted for the Tyga system with carbon kevlar end cans. I decided against the stainless steel ones opting instead for plain steel. bit of a mistake as although they looked lovely. after about six months and when the lacquer had burned off. he rust set in and began to look less than lovely!!) so off they come fully rubbed back and resprayed with three coats of hi temp satin exhaust paint. The engine has been intentionally left standard with both barrels being re-plated less than 800 miles ago. All work was done by myself using all genuine Suzuki pistons and gaskets supplied by Sean at the Tuning Works (great bloke and great place for anything rs/rgv) the crankshaft was reconditioned 1000 miles ago with new bearings and con rods and rebalanced. The only things I have done in the engine area is fitted a Pipercross air filter. I had the bike dynoed at CMC Chesterfield and I have a printout of a very healthy 58. 2bhp. All carburettor internals have been replaced with new items and I have gone one size up on the main jets as those seem to suit the Tyga exhausts. The ignition system has been dragged into the 21st century by the fitting of a Zeeltronic programmable ECU and a pair of high power coils. The ECU is programmable via the hand held programmer allowing you to input a bespoke map altering exhaust valve opening times and rev ranges allowing you to tailor power delivery to match different tracks. Yet again all work was done by me using aircraft grade plug connectors and it took me an age just to make the wiring looms look tidy!!!The forks and rear shock were sent to Maxton for an upgrade. The forks had Maxton internals fitted. ll seals replaced and resprung and the rear shock had the spring replaced with a Maxton one. The handling is greatly improved. although harsh on the road. the set up on track is a massive improvement over the already very good original spec suspension. Front brake master cylinder is a Brembo RCS adjustable ratio system and with that fitted I can pretty much outbreak anything. raking improvement is a massive understatement. Also fitted is a 10 way adjustable sprint steering damper which keeps everything nice and steady on those inevitable tank slappers!!!I have a Domino quick action throttle fitted and a Brembo clutch lever which matches the brake. All brake calliper seals have been replaced and I have braided lines throughoutIi have fitted a lithium racing battery which is a considerable weight saving on its own. As for the chassis. swing arm bearings have been replaced as well as head stock bearings. The chain is a 1000 miles old. the rear tyre is pretty much brand new and the front has done a weekend at Pembrey. The bike pretty much wants for nothing apart from someone with more time to use it. It is a lovely clean example and if i was to point out the negatives they would be:tank swelling has caused the paint to bubble on a small area of the tank. The early MK2 examples are prone to slight swelling due to the ethanol amounts in modern fuel. I find it controllable by using super unleaded. I believe you can treat the inside of the tank with some type of coating but I have never got round to it as I find it not a problem at all. The fairing has been on and off hundreds of times so there are marks in the paintwork. If I was to make the bike perfect I. ould chuck a load of money at Dream Machine and go for a professionally done race rep paint job. but although the paintwork is marked I would still class it as good condition. I am trying to be as honest as possible and would gladly host any viewings as there are a lot of RS dogs out there. but I truly love this bike and feel very confident that anybody who comes to see it would be impressed. It is a very reluctant sale and its something I really need to do as I really have no time to use it. and I want the new BMW S1000RR!!!!) but i will not let it go for silly money. so would appreciate no silly offers. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible but feel free to ask any questions or even give me a ring. I have nothing to hide and love talking bikes anyway! Many thanks for reading. Mark
