2001 APRILIA RSV MILLE BLUE, 1000CC V TWIN, 22K, SUPERB CONDITION, RARE COLOUR

Here we have for auction is a stunning and very nice example of a Aprilia RSV MILLE

Firstly I would like to say that I have owned 3 Milles over the years and have a huge soft spot for them. This one was taken in a part exchange deal with a BMW bought recently. I can confidently say that its the best one I've had to ride and possibly the quickest too. Its in lovely condition and in one of the rarest of colours. I have noticed no drawbacks with this example at all. There are none of the all too common Aprilia problems and will detail the details of how they have been rectified.  

We took this bike as a part ex on another car recently. I am still tempted to keep it for the summer season as it really is a lovely example. not mint. but genuinely stunning and what a bike to ride. I have enjoyed it no end. however we have got a few track days booked for the winter months and I do not want to damage the bike with possible spills or even risk damaging it so have a 'rat bike' for this purpose.  

The bike is one of the nicest looking Mille's I've seen and unique with some of the upgrades you'd expect on the Mille R. The quickest mille I've had and rides the best I've had too. She comes with Ohlins rear fully adjustable rear suspension and full Brembo set up all round. Brand new tyres as well and have only covered 300 miles in the dry. Valve clearances done. carbs balanced and full system fitted not too long ago. she comes with the baffle. standard exhaust and tank bag. nbsp;coupled to the shorty can which sounds beautiful.

The headlight bulbs have been upgraded with crystal clear ones. really does set the bike apart from others I've seen and improves visibility. the bike has a full set of four crash bungs fitted too  as well as paddock stand bobbins to make it easier to maintain.  

The wheels are in good condition as are the fairings with no noticeable marks or fairing damage. The only damage on the bike is a dent in the tank (not that noticeable and I have the tank bag anyway) and a small dent on the rear swing-arm by the pipe. thats it. everything else looks in superb condition.

The brakes. brake fluid. discs. chain sprockets and all suspention and front forks are in perfect condition and working as expected needing nothing doing to them at all. The MOT is valid until October 2015 and its done next to no miles since it was done.

Can either be ridden as it is. which I have been doing when the weather permits. or can be laid up for the winter and then you have basically a completely lovely unique Mille for the summer.  

She has been fitted with a brand new 14A battery to counteract the sprag clutch issues the Mille has (a common and necessary upgrade). The oprevious owner stated that he had replaced the speedo cable and drivers with upgraded parts to prevent the common speedo failure issue as well. The oil is changed regularly and is still golden.

The new owner will be getting a bargain for this time of year as its a stunning bike. the rear seat was re-upholstered as well as the drivers seat which really set the bike off and apart from the others and I prefer it to the pillion seat hump. I will not sell to an inexperienced rider nor will I be entertained if you try picking holes in my nearly 15 year old bike. she isn't a brand new bike. but looks lovely for the year if your in doubt come and view it. I have cleaned the bike religiously every week as it gets dusty under my car port with its cover on. She rides like a new bike. and always starts on the button with minimal choke even in this cold weather and does go like a rocket. lighting up the rear end with no effort at all.

It’s a bit of an animal in the cold weather and doesn't take much throttle to spin up the rear tyre. She wheelies off the power in first and second gear and the bike is still pulling well at 160mph with a 17stone rider on it so if this is going to be your first bike. I would look elsewhere. She sticks with a lot more modern bikes and from experience on previous Mille's they are very good track machines too and have run rings around many newer and more powerful bikes on the track.   Could be used every day and no doubt would perform effortlessly. but would be a shame to put unnecessary wear and tear on such a lovely bike.

She has only got just over 23k miles as well and as anyone will tell you. this is very low indeed for this bike and still rides like new.

Customised rear end tail tidy as well as mini indicators. . with the rear hugger this really sets it aside from others on the road. also the bike is the very rare colour and you will struggle to find another one on Ebay in this colour let alone for this money.  

The screen is also aftermarket double bubble screen. essential if you are a larger rider.

The rear pillion foot pegs are there as well and in good condition. bike can be sold with the original exhaust and tank bag if required.  

There are a few receipts for the bike collected over the years. There is also a full closure DATATOOL alarm and immobiliser with two fobs fitted to help with insurance.

The bike has been kept to a very high standard indeed.

The engine is lovely and quiet. even from initial starting. The exhaust is loud and my DB meter says about 104DB without the baffles fitted and the same with them fitted but a completely different sound. The bike will come with the baffles as well as the standard can. But she sounds beautiful and you won’t want to change it.

So in summary we have a genuine low mileage great example of the RSV Mille. All the necessary upgrades done and everything consumable replaced. Nothing needs doing other than finding a new owner. I am not looking for a fortune for the bike. but please don't take the micky. You know what they are worth in this condition so don't waste my time offering me a part ex on your Gilera runner and some pocket fluff. It’s a great bike and is loud and proud very quick and superbly reliable. Looks stunning and rides like new.

New tax laws mean no RFL unfortunately.

She is HPI clear. All fairings are original and free from any paintwork having been done.

Bike for sale to the highest bidder. any Q's please ask away. No test rides unless you want to come on the back as I don't trust anyone with my toys.
