WELCOME TO MY AUCTION/ SALE OF MY APRILLIA MILLE. AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS IS AN RSV1000 MILLE BUT IN THE LOG BOOK AND ON THE SALES INVOICE IT IS STATED AS A RSV1000R. THIS BIKE WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2004 BUT REMAINED WITH 5 OTHERS IN A CRATE TILL IT WAS SOLD ON THE 12TH SEPTEMBER 2008 FOR THE SUM OF £4999 TO MY FRIEND BY KJM SUPERBIKE CENTRE AT WIGAN. (I KNOW EVERY ONE SAYS THIS BUT HE LIVES ALMOST NEXT DOOR TO ME AND HE IS HAPPY TO VERIFY ALL THAT I STATE HERE)
THE BIKE HAS THE ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE HERE FROM KJM SUPERBIKE CENTRE. THIS WAS MY FRIENDS SUNDAY TOY AND HE RETURNED IT TO KJM ON 12TH MARCH 2009 WITH A MILEAGE OF 591 FOR IT'S 600 MILE SERVICE. IN THE AUGUST OF THAT YEAR HE SLID OFF AT LOW SPEED ON "SPEEDHUMPS" OUTSIDE HIS MUMS HOUSE WHERE HE USED TO LIVE. HE DAMAGED HIS HAND QUITE BADLY AND THIS RESULTED IN HIM PUTTING THE BIKE AWAY IN HIS GARAGE AND MORE OR LESS FORGETTING ABOUT IT. HE DECIDED TO RESURECT IT IN 2012 BUT BETWEEN MOVING HOUSE AND GETTING DIVORCED HE MISPLACED THE SEAT UNIT WHICH HE HAD REMOVED TO REPAIR AS IT HAD GOT SCRATCHED WHEN HE SLID OFF. THE DAMAGE TO THE BIKE WHEN HE SLID OFF WAS:-
THE TOP PART OF THE FAIRING GOT SCRAPED. THIS WAS REPAIRED BUT IS STILL IN PRIMER. THE ORIGINAL SEAT UNIT HAS BEEN MISPLACED SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE ALTHOUGH IT IS IN BLACK SO REQUIRES RESPRAYING TO MATCH THE REST OF THE BIKE. AS USUAL. WHEN ONE OF THESE GOES OVER. THE EXHAUST GETS PUSHED ONTO THE SWINGING ARM AND SCRATCHES IT. THIS HAS THE USUAL CARBON FIBRE COVER TO HIDE THE SCRATCH AND THE ORIGINAL EXHAUST MOUNTING WAS REPLACED WITH A FANCY TITANIUM ONE AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO. THE BIKE COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL FOLDER. BILL OF SALE. FIRST SERVICE INVOICE AND OWNERS HANDBOOK ALONG WITH BOTH KEYS.
AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT THE BIKE HAD DONE 2. 00 MILES.
AT THE START OF THIS SUMMER GRANT MOVED BACK TO HIS MUMS HOUSE AND WHEN WE WERE CHATTING HE TOLD ME HE STILL HAD THIS BIKE BUT WAS GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE IT OUT SIDE HIS MUMS HOUSE AS HE WAS MOVING BACK THERE AGAIN. I TOLD HIM THAT HE COULD PARK IT IN MY GARAGE INSTEAD OF LEAVING IT OUTSIDE HIS MUMS HOUSE IN THE WEATHER. WHILE IT WAS IN MY GARAGE I SPENT A FAIR BIT OF TIME ADMIRING THE BIKE AND AFTER WE HAD A FEW BEERS ONE NIGHT I BOUGHT IT FROM HIM.
I WENT ON THE FORUMS TO SEEK ADVICE AND FITTED A LARGER STARTER SOLENOID AS RECOMENDED ALONG WITH A HIGHER AMP HOUR BATTERY. I THEN FITTED NEW TYRES. AVON STORM 2'S ALSO AS RECOMENDED ON THE FORUMS. THE BIKE STARTED AND RAN OK BUT I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL APRILLIA TRAINED MECHANIC (EVERY ONE IN YORK AREA KNOWS AL LONGHURST) WHERE IT WAS CHECKED OVER AND HE FOUND THAT THE BIKE HAD NOT BEEN DERESTRICTED SO THIS WAS DONE ALONG WITH IT'S MOT.
I HAVE ONLY RIDDEN THE BIKE A FEW TIMES AS I DIDN'T REALISE HOW UNCOMPROMISING THE RIDING POSITION IS (I AM 60 YEARS OLD AND IT HURTS MY BACK AND MY WRISTS) THE MILEAGE NOW STANDS AT 2600. APART FROM THE TOP HALF OF THE FAIRING AND THE SEAT BEING BLACK THE BIKE IS IMMACULATE AND VERY POWERFULL. ALL THE FAIRING PANELS ARE UNMARKED AND BEHIND THEM THE ENGINE IS AS NEW.
THIS MIGHT BE THE WRONG TIME OF YEAR TO BE SELLING MY BIKE BUT I AM LEFT WITH A COUPLE OF OPTIONS AS TO WHAT TO DO. I CAN SELL IT AS IT IS AND SOME ONE GETS A BARGAIN. IF IT DOESN'T SELL I CAN GET THE FAIRING AND THE SEAT RESPRAYED AND OFFER IT FOR SALE IN THE NEW YEAR AGAIN. I CAN GET A FLAT BAR CONVERSION FOR IT AND RIDE IT (THIS WOULD BE A SHAME TO DO SO THIS CHOICE IS UNLIKELY TO HAPPEN) OR LASTLY. I AM HAVING A CLEAROUT OF BIKES THAT I AM UNLIKELY TO RIDE PROPERLY AND AS I AM RETIRING IN MAY OF NEXT YEAR GET WHAT WILL SUIT MY RIDING NOW.
THEREFORE THIS BIKE IS FOR SALE (DON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH STUPID OFFERS) OR I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO DO A DEAL WITHIN E. BAY RULES. AND PART EX THIS BIKE AGAINST A TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE (PREFER 860 BUT WOULD CONSIDER A 790) AND PAY THE DIFFERENCE .
