Aprilia Atlantic 500 Scooter - Spares or Repair - Relisted

Relisted Due to timewastersPlease read the following carefully.  For Spares or Repair. Aprilia Atlantic 500 Scooter. A nice bike to ride.   Includes standard screen. a Givi touring screen only a few months old (approx £100) and Givi topbox and rack.   New rear tyre recently fitted. new battery recently fitted. Touring screen and bodywork keep nearly all the rain off and the bike will eaily cruise at the legal limit.   Lots of storage and a flexible single cyclinder engine.   I am now a convert to big scooters. Ridiculously low starting price with no reserve. It needs a new oil pump which requires the crankcase to be split and I currently don't have the time or anywhere sensible to do this.   Therefore regretably the bike has to be sold for spares or repairs. This model had a problem with the oil temperature thermostat that caused the oil pump to fail. The fix was to replace the thermostat with one that ran hotter.   It should have been done on a recall but this one may have been missed. Report from bike shop shows that the engine starts and sounds OK although clearly there are no guarantees.   Report available on request. Have handbook and printed manual.   Tax disc has fallen off but it was taxed in December 2013 - (From 1st Oct missing tax disc is not an issue due to law change). Some dismantling has been done to check the bike. all the bits are there but you will not be able to hear the bike running. I have put the mileage at 19000.   It is either over 17000 or over 19000 - I cannot remember which and it is currently stored in a friend's barn so I can't confirm this. I am starting this at well below the price of the rear tyre let alone everything else. The engine is used in lots of other scooters so spare parts shouldn't be a problem.   If you have the time this could be a bargain ride for you.
