Description

For sale is a 1999 Aprilia RS50. This is the "BADDEST" little bike you will ever find. It will also provide the most bang and fun for the buck of anything you're likely to find. For those of you who are unfamiliar. Aprilia is a very  highly respected Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Along with Ducati. they are well known for their Super-Bikes.  The build quality of the RS50 is unsurpassed in a motorcycle of its kind. This bike sports a whopping 72cc. but don't let that fool you. With me on it (5'9". 175lbs). this Aprilia will do 75mph. It has a number upgraded parts. including carbon fiber exhaust. Although this bike is bigger in stature than the Ducati 999 I used to ride. it weighs less than 200 lbs and is super responsive and easy to handle. I bought this RS50 about 10 years ago. with less than 1. 00 miles on it. Today it has just over 3. 00 miles and is in superb condition. The bike has always been kept out of the elements and has never been laid down. All the fairings are in great condition. There are a number of very minor superficial scratches or scuffs around the bike. as you would expect from 15 years of being walked past. but nothing you wouldn't expect from a bike of this age with original paint. To the best of my knowledge. everything runs great on the bike and works the way it should. including lights and signals. It was originally a 50cc bike. but a couple years ago. I had the "Big Bore" 72cc kit installed for even better performance. This thing is a monster. Red line on the tachometer for this thing is 11. 00 RPM! I keep the bike on a trickle-charger (included in the sale) so it is always ready to go. I even have the original owner's/maintenance manual that came with the bike. These motorcycles were very big in Europe. but there are not too many here in the U. S. . meaning that it gets a lot of looks and compliments. If you ever do find you need to repair the bike. there are a number of Aprilia dealers around (at least 1 in Charleston. SC I know of). or parts are readily available from the trusty internet.  WHO WILL BE INTERESTED IN THIS BIKE: 1) Collectors or Aprilia enthusiasts who already know about these super cool bikes and what they can do. 2) As a first bike or for someone who wants to learn to ride. This bike is very light weight. super responsive and almost drives itself. There is nothing worse for a beginner than a bike that is too big. too heavy and has too much power. I took my motorcycle test at the DMV on this bike and got 100%. 3) Transportation. If you decide you want to use this as a main ride. you will be pleasantly surprised to find that it gets almost 80 mpg . This has also been the most maintenance free vehicle I have ever owned. REMEMBER. CHRISTMAS IS COMING!I always told myself I would never sell this bike. it is just too cool and too much fun. but I find myself with too many other toys and too little time now to justify keeping it. The bike is ready to ride right now and is currently registered and insured through next year. This motorcycle is being sold as-is and may be picked up in Myrtle Beach. SC.
