UPDATE: I have been made an offer that I may take (I will be using eBay rules and Buy now). I am also considering keeping it as I have also been offered parts to finish. To be fair to all the people who have messaged me and are watching the auction it will remain up until tomorrow. My number is 07914714919 if you want to know more before then.
A great opportunity to purchase an almost complete Benelli Sei. Registered in the UK from new in 76. Numbers matching. Original carbs. I would encourage anyone who wants to buy it to look so they know what they are getting or at least know about these bikes. Twin disc up front.
The picture show the weld but I think there is another lower down. The new old stock exhaust and boxes of parts plus spares. To be honest the pictures don't do the bike justice. You can't see a lot of the new parts plus it needs a good clean. I have another box of smaller new parts that are not shown
The carbs have all new rubbers and clamps on the front and the back. It has a new air box . these are always cracked so I purchased a new original part. The speedo and tachometer housing plus brackets. spacers and bolts are also new old stock.
I used car check before I purchased it to find out if it had any issues with it but it came back all clear with the details matching
A lot of the Benelli parts are Moto Guzzi on the front end and in other areas and everything is available new
Since I purchased it I have spent about ?1500 on all the rubber and plastic parts from Germany and Italy plus I replaced the exhausts and exhaust mounts ?650. Handlebars grips and NOS speedo. New battery. Points cover badges. Complete set of three points.
It has a single race seat.
I have a box of spare parts that maybe useful for trade or eBay
The exhausts are new old stock.
The hard to find parts are all there . Switches. master cylinder. side covers. instrument housing. headlight. rear grab rail.
The motor had new rings. bearings and oil seals plus valve guide seals just before it was taken off the road
I can give you all the contacts you need to finish this bike or you can buy new parts from Germany.
Wiring is there and good plus a spare. I have a wiring diagram. I have a manual.
what it needs (as far as I can remember)
It's bolted together but needs a good look over
Top steering ball race or put in taper bearings
Carbs may need a clean and a quick look over. It has three of the them on an Aluminium frame and linked together. They are all free with no slides sticking.
Front callipers are a bit sticky
I have not turned over the motor since I got it. but it has rags in the inlet and the plugs have been taken out oil put in and the plugs replaced.
Someone started to cut the frame and it has been tack welded back together (I understand this was in a jig) but would need a complete weld before powder coating. I did get a custom frame with it.
Fuel tank. fuel taps and badges Ebay ?180/250. rear and front mudguard (I have a cut down front) always a few on eBay at around ?50 each
Some re-chroming on the headlight ears etc or buy them new for ?45
Points cover ?60
Top steering ball race or put in taper bearings (I may have some) ?90 for a complete set top and bottom.
These are getting expensive now and I think the price will continue to rise. This is a great start for a caf? race bike. custom. or spend ?1000 on it and ride it as it was.
wiring is a bit tatty as someone has put in a crude alarm and replaced some of the electrics. I have replaced these with new plus there are spares
The wheel rims are aluminium and the rear wheel is wider than standard and maybe smaller in Dia (not sure).
The hubs are correct and original. Rear chain has surface rust
No indicators just the stalks. Sent away for chroming and lost. Again not expensive to buy reproductions
Tacho looks like it's also new but doesn't fit that well so it may need sorting Again I am not 100%
Switches will need some work but I have some spares.
I will have a look over it when I take some pictures tomorrow.
The kick start mechanism has been removed and the bike was used only with the electric start. I have the kick start shaft and kick start lever.
I am selling because I have been offered three bikes that I have been after for a while so I need the space but I am not giving it away. It will go into storage and I will finish it off in the summer holiday.
You could get it back on the road for the summer with a bit of effort or make it an immaculate restoration.
I have also now listed the bike elsewhere.
