Benelli Sidehack sidecar minibike Dynamo 65cc with all accessories! Volcano cousin!1971Here is the most rare Benelli mini in the Benelli mini lineup. the Benelli Dynamo factory Sidehack sidecar. Benelli of Italy made what appears to be the smallest factory sidecar or sidehack on the smallest minicycle. just a 10 inch wheel bike that a full sized person could fit in. Only 60 Dynamo Sidehack sidecars were produced by Benelli. These were only produced for the U. S. market by Benelli and not available in Italy like all the rest of the Benelli machines. including the Volcano that were all available in Italy and the States. Joe Purshock from Cosmopolitan Motors informed me of this when he offered to buy the Sidehack unit from me several years ago. He stated to me we only received 60 in the container from Benelli. I have only ever seen one other in about the same shape about 8 years ago. I did hear of one more but never saw it. The Sidehack still has the original seat and particle wood floor which came heavily vinyl covered in black. The seat is vinyl with mohair over top and it has had several liquid vinyl repairs. It most likely can have new mohair fibers re-glued over the repair areas and is pretty smooth or the old cover can be used for a pattern to make a new cover. The cover was a bit wet from being cleaned in the pictures and the seat is a little wrinkled. The original foam is very nice. The front mud cover is new and just thin vinyl glued to the bars with fake snaps but works and looks good. I do have detailed pictures of an original cover if you would like to make a new one. Vinyl on back of seat has glue coming loose and has clear book tape on it. Seat was not bolted in for pictures but I have since bolted it in. The sidehack has been repainted but the bike is in original paint except for some touch ups on the rims. Tires on the bike are a little worn but still quite usable. Fender on the Sidecar is discolored in spots and has some dents but not to bad. Fenders are pretty easy to find. It is the same as the rear on these bikes but has fewer holes. You would want to repaint the sidehack for show as it has some surface rust in some areas under the repaint but its a nice original sidehack and how many can be left?!?!? Also these Sidehacks had a special wheel and hub made by Grimeca and the wheel and special hub cap that say Gimeca on it are in excellent shape with no dents and it also has its correct mounting for the sidecar to the frame on the bike clamp! Foot peg for the bike when Sidehack is off is included as well as new foot peg rubbers. The bike is the square tank deluxe compact Dynamo version and in my opinion still a bit to nice to do a total restore. The bike and sidehack came from a Shriner and were ordered this way for the Shriners. In the original Benelli ad. the Sidehack is shown with the angle tank Dynamo so I have included an extra frame. very nice angle tank and nice seat if you want to run it as it appeared in the old ads. The Sidehack will mount up to any Dynamo. The next treat to come with this deal is the impossible to find factory accessory option package that includes the rear luggage rack. mirrors. crash bars. rear passenger foot pegs. and front windshield. The plexi needs to be replaced. but this looks quite simple. All the accessories have their original brackets intact and most chrome looks like it will clean up pretty well. The bike itself is in very good original condition and has good spark and compression and does run. The brake cables need to be hooked back up and it is in need of a throttle cable. The bike had a shifting problem. but I have included another cover that seems to work and shift fine. The chain is also off. but I have the cover screws and all chain parts. It also has a broken foot brake pin but I have included a nice foot brake set up complete(see pics. ) The seat on the bike is real nice and the bike comes with a set of very nice original tank badges that I left off the bike in case someone wants to repaint the bike since the glue came loose on them. The bike has a broken head light ear as shown but I have included a extra set of forks with good ears. Tank is very nice on the bike with a couple of small ding from the bars in front but chrome is nice on tank with a few specks of surface rust that should clean up. One handle bar is slightly bent back but should straighten out ok. Rest of chrome on bike is average but can still be cleaned up some more. Tail lens is faded out. We started to clean the bike up but did not finish. I was going to repaint the Sidehack to match the bike better and just clean up the bike and enjoy as is but this will be up to the new owner. Either way here is a very rare chance to own what will likely be the coolest and most optioned Benelli mini with the Sidehack Sidecar!!! This should really turn the heads at the shows!
