Description

Benelli Dynamo Chopper Woodsbike 1970. This vintage minibike or minicycle is in very nice original condition and is all complete. It came from an old Shriner and was sold new as a Woodsbike Chopper. It later had a light kit put on it. When I got it many years ago the Chopper number plates were in a bag. I put them back on but never removed the old light wiring. It also needs the kill button put back on which I have. It has a VERY nice original seat (not a recover!) with no rips or tears. There is one small wrinkle on the top of the seat in the front as it had a heavy box sitting on it for some time. This may come out in due time. but it's minor. There was also some model airplane glue spilled on one front corner of the seat which I removed almost all of but there is still a little leftbut its hard to notice. The seat still looks great with no rips cuts or holes. The seat is soft like day one and the cool chrome sissy bar is very nice. Note: the sissy bar brackets themselves on the back and bottom were not chromed from the factory on these seats. These bikes have what I believe was the tallest sissy bar used on a minibike or minicycle at 34 inches tall! The bike has a NOS factory correct front number plate that I found on the net years ago and also has its very nice rare original rear steel number plate. Benelli had very few of the Chopper Woodsbikes made up. I have the handle bars tilted back a bit with 3 space washers which gives it a more chopped look but these can be easily removed.

The tank has no dents at all and has VERY nice chrome with just one small scratch that is kind of hard to see.

The tool box is nice on one side but has some chrome loss around the tool box knob on the other side but I have included an extra tool box that needs a little more cleaning and may have a little better chrome but the one on the bike is not that bad and may clean up a little better. Handle bar chrome needs a light cleaning. but looks like it will clean up very nice.

Fenders are in great shape and practically dent free!

Muffler is in decent shape for the age. but the back has a little bit of chrome paint on it where it looks like someone painted over some surface rust. It may clean up. The large muffler guard has some scratches where someone rubbed up against something but the chrome is not bad and these guards can be found and easily replaced.

The paint is fair but the tank has been re-painted as have the forks as well as other touch ups. The bike should be re painted for show. but not bad looking as is.

The bike runs but the carb is dirty so it will not stay running. It also seems to shift freely and the clutch seems to work fine.

I never got the time to restore it so I never rode it. I just started it a few times over the years. It still has a ton of spark.

Main problem is a broken kick start spring block so the kick start lever does not return. This can be welded. Someone put some jb weld on the area where the block broke off(see picture)and it most likely left a small hole in the block. I have included a spare engine with a good case and kick lever for repair or reference. The spare engine has the head loose and piston is missing the rings and the shift cover is gone but it looks like a good motor otherwise. There are no broken fins on either motor. I am quite sure the block on the bike can be easily welded so the kick lever will work again.

The original decals on the tank are very nice and I have also included a very nice hard to find set of original engine side cover emblems one loose and one you will need to remove from an old cover.

The bike also comes with a nice very rare original Woodsbike owners manual with all pages intact and nice cover but has just a little chewing at top. However these Woodsbike manuals are super rare. Also included is the parts manual which is nice.

The bike still has the speedo gear drive on it from the light kit. It needs a spacer in its place which was missing when I got the bike but this is minor and easy to change. Also the front brake cable needs to be re-connected to the wheel. but is complete. The bike has the wrong clutch lever on it so I have included a nice original to replace it with. The bike had a better rear tire but years ago I took it off this rim and used it on another bike but the front is original and judging by the tread I would say the bike had not been used much. The other rubber parts on the bike are all very nice. The bike also has a set of original factory accessory rear foot pegs.

NOTE: Mileage is shown as 0 as no speedometer. There is no title as this is an "off road" bike. The last picture of a magazine ad is NOT included in the auction and is only for reference only.

Overall this is a very nice clean straight Woodsbike Chopper that just needs a basic easy restoration or you can enjoy it as is. I am sure it will turn some serious heads! These Woodsbike Choppers are seldom seen and even finding a picture of one on the net is rare and this bike looks even better in person. Don't miss this one as it may be a long time before you find another and most likely it will be beat up junk or incomplete.
