1966 Riverside Benelli 350S Motobi Scooterette 50cc Scooter

This is a 1966 Riverside/Benelli 350S 50cc scooter. also known as the Motobi Scooterette. as sold by Montgomery Wards. 50cc. 3 speed twist shift. and moped plate; mileage unknown. It runs. shifts. rides. and has a current Minnesota title and plate in my name. I have driven it short distances to local events. where onlookers are invariably fascinated by the unique split engine/transmission layout.

Mostly original. paint ranges from very nice to moderate surface rust. Front fender and seat are NOS. The chain guard was just too rusty and was spray-canned. A previous owner must have replaced the lower fork legs. The original factory paint is the 1966 GM color Trumpet Gold.

Engine was rebuilt to 1st oversize with a cylinder bore and NOS piston/rings. NOS main bearings. and brand new seals. Kickstart pedal was made from Benelli and Yamaha parts.

Tires. inner tubes. rim strips. and chain are brand new.

I do have the body piece that covers the engine. it's just off because I like showing off the unusual layout! Also included is a NOS transmission cover plate. as the one on the bike has a visible repair. There is a shop manual with it as well.

This would be a perfect candidate for restoration as it is unique. quite complete. mostly original. and completely operational. Even includes the original pink sparkplug. :)
