Description

Bought this Big Dog Mastiff from Robert Garcia who bought it originally in 2008 from Hans DeRocher Company, professional restoration outfit that has been serving Austin for 30+ years. That transaction still shows up (about middle of page) @ their site...carsbikesboats.com/motorcycles
Here's the excerpt...2004 Other Big Dog Mastiff- 2004 Big Dog Mastiff with a little damage. I bought this from the insurance company and will post pictures when it gets here. I think I also have all of the necessary parts to repair this bike. Call for details 512-784-3659. Okay, t is done. All damaged parts replaced with genuine Big Dog parts, ew Big Dog paint set, isc. small parts, ew front tire and wheel. The only difference between this Mastif and one that hasn’t been damaged is the price. This is my last Big Dog, ut we are always on the prowl for more.....TOO LATE for this one, obert knew a deal when he saw it, o he’ll be at the ROT rally next month on his beautiful Mastiff. Sold right here in good ol Austin Tx. I knew if anyone actually saw this scooter, hey’d buy it.......... Keep watching, s we are always coming across Big Dogs, nd they are usually strays and don’t stay around long........ $14,900

I loved this bike at first sight and loved riding it. Electrical issues cropped up though (I found out no surprise on a Big Dog). Researched local shops and Sinners Cycle has the best Big Dog repair rep. Took my bike there and Jeff Williams, he owner, ecommended the "Wire Plus Big Dog Retrofit Kit". I went with his recommend and had the Ignition Module replaced at the same time. I have included a scan of that receipt, s well as a scan of the Salvage title. My brother Mark runs Classic Street, hich specializes in rebuilding older cars. He is the one who told me not to worry about the "salvage" part of the title. I found the original salvage sale info when I was checking out Hans DeRocher site after I bought the bike. Also, 've included a scan of the new Texas state inspection.
Engine does have "EC00117" stamped on it, o it may be 117 cubic inches (1913 cubic centimeters), ut don't really know. If anyone looking at this has a way to tell, 'd appreciate hearing from you. I couldn't find anything when I googled. I will say there is plenty of power at any point in any gear. One more thing, he pipes do not have baffles, o you really get a good sense of this bike's power when you roll on the throttle.
There are some scratches on bottom of frame and on one side of engine cover, utyou can't really see them. Seems like they were there before the restore, o Hans must not have thought them worth fooling with. Only part that should be painted is the rocker panel on right side. I was quoted $250 to have it paint matched by an expert, ut am just discounting my original price target of 11k, s some might prefer to have that part chromed on both sides. I have seen same on other Big Dogs and it looks good.
