Description

THESE PICTURES ARE OF THE BIKE FOR SALE - IMMACULATE - ANY INSPECTION WELCOMESOLD DEPOSIT TAKENPlease read full description. very detailed. Bike History:Bike first registered on 14/03/2013Bought brand new on 16/04/2013First service 14/05/2013.   671 milesSecond service 01/05/2014.  6505 miles. Up to this point everything is perfect and as it should be. At the end of May the owner took the bike to the Isle of Man to spectate at the TT. During this trip the bike was subject to a very low speed drop on it's left side. at 8101 miles. It sustained very minor but hugely expensive scratches and dents. the most severe being the left side rearset snapped and knocked a hole in the aluminium swing arm. The bike was recovered from the Island and returned to the UK where it sat in a workshop until the beginning of November 2014 while the insurance etc. was sorted out. It was at this point that it was classed as category C damage. Which means it is repairable but financially not viable. It was then sent to Southampton to be sold. Being a BMW enthusiast and owning several limited edition bikes. including the HP4 carbon. I realised that to make the bike perfect again would be a good winter project. Having just returned from crossing the Atacama desert on a GS Adventure. I needed a distraction from the Scottish winter. Whilst I noticed the only damage to the bike was on the left hand side. being me. I couldn't help myself but replace ones on the right too. that were perfect but used. These were all repaired and painted by Bikepaints Cuparmuir. one of the countries best motorcycle painters having a long history with many TT teams. riders and BSB teams like Monstermob Ducati. Finally two new Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres fitted yesterday. I also purchased a riders manual and service book from BMW who kindly stamped it up at the correct pages with dates. mileage. etc. So there you have it. this bike is beautiful. it can be mistaken for having not been ridden as there is so much brand new on it. I have all the removed parts in a box to show how particular I have been. Viewings very much welcomed. I am in Scotland about half an hour from Edinburgh. I will make you coffee but only if you let me bore you with tales of Argentinian border guards and crossing the Andes on a bike. LolI am a time served Avionics engineer with a sharp eye for detail and a former police officer. unlike some I don't tell lies and would welcome any visits or questions regarding this bike. Having finished this and looking at the bill from BMW I could see why a garage would see this as uneconomical. but I think these bikes are more than that. Service is due in May. but would make sure it is done by BMW dealers before sale. included at sale price. The BMW warranty expires in march but can be extended by any dealer before the bike is two years old. Pictures will be added at the weekend. it's meant to be sunny. Any questions to Jimmy 07970 482251Pictures added. also remembered I replaced the LHS heated grip and the LHS clutch cover and new bolts as can be seen in the photos. I have applied for the V5C on 28th January. If anyone can help me contact the previous keeper before its return please do. The engraving on the handlebars is number 0126.
