++++ Bike passed MOT today 03. 03. 15 No Advisories ++++
I have owned the bike for 2 years and have commuted 45 miles a day. ridden out on sunny summer evenings and toured France with the missus. It has never missed a beat. failed to start or been anything other than a complete pleasure to own and ride. I am selling as i have changed jobs so no longer requiredThe BM has 2 previous local owners and comes with a comprehensive service record. original manuals. service book. sales literature etc. The bike is presentable but not immaculate. It has been used in all weathers and bears the resultant age related signs of general all weather use. I have covered approximately 20. 00 miles and during my ownership have performed services every 5. 00 miles. oil. filter and gearbox/final drive changes. The only items other than service parts thta have required replacing are the paralever bearings done at apprx 48k and one of the indicator switches packed in replaced with a used item. Bike comes with a few spares that have not been required including a replacement final drive bearing which having read the forums was a tad paranoid about; 20k later still in box! Bike is fitted with an intercom that I have tested (works) but never recommissioned (will need a bit of solder on the earpiece). Also has addittional 12v socket at handlebars and wiring installed for addittional spot lights (spot lights dont work. havent in my ownership and i have never got round to investigating. for someone handy with auto electrics should be a simple fix). There are lots of extras and sensible modifications that have been made to make this a truly versatile machine. whether commuting. touring or popping to the shops. I have tried to remember them all and below should give an idea. Good bits. Decat Y pieceHeated gripsABSDatatool alarm and immobiliserGodrich hosesTobinnators (bits that adjust the screen - they are brilliant)New Metzeler Tourance tyres12 months MOT (will test this week)Touratech bits and bobs. grill. head covers. belly pan and centre stand guard. steering stopEngine barsFoot protectorsAdventure beakFull hard luggage. Krauser top box BMW panniersLED indicators and rear lightGreat service recordFull luggage and a load of sparesTotally reliable in my ownership2 sets of all keys and fobs.
Has input connector for battery trickle charger (never needed as used daily)Found a Haines manual. new spark plugs and spare headlight bulbs that will go with the bikeAs with all bikes of similar age and mileage. there are bits that are not perfect. I have listed below known faults as I dont want to waste your time or mine. Not so good bits. Flaking paint on engine casings and wheel hubsSurface rust on rear sub frameSpot lights dont workTear in seat (see pic)Steering lock doesnt workTiny dink in petrol tank (have taken pic but doesnt really show it)Bar grips splitTop box latch broken replaced with mechanical latch (not pretty)One pannier cant be locked General wear and tear commensurate with age. mileage and use. Small corner of screen broken (does not affect use and i have the bit if you want it)Finally. I think the listing price is fair so please dont think that i am in anyway desperate to sell. I am open to sensible offers but not going to give it away. If I dont sell it I will leave in the garage for a few weeks and wait for spring and try again then.
