Offered for sale on behalf for Tom Sill of C. O. B Motors: 1978 BMW R100RS Motorsport edition. 36k miles Second owner. One of 200 produced. Genuine collector’s item. Professionally maintained. All original except for the following; Has San Jose upper triple clamp. San Jose fork brace. Koni rear shocks. Recently serviced. Comes with original and rare white saddlebags. Not perfect. front fairing has some issues and could stand some repairs. Small dent in fuel tank. Has original tool kit and security lock. Overall. condition. very good for a 37-year-old motorcycle. Runs well. Same model (not this particular one) as was displayed in “The Art of the Motorcycle” at the Guggenheim Museum. This is NOT a R100RS painted to look like a Motorsport. This machine was originally sold by Buchannan’s BMW in Seattle Washington to the owner of Seattle BMW (the car dealership) and was then traded to Ride West BMW of Seattle. He purchased it from them while employed there as their Service Manager. He is the second owner. This machine is as he purchased it. with the addition of a front fork rebuild. driveshaft replacement. rear shock replacement. new locks on saddlebags. full service.
