2002 BMW K1200GT K1200 GT Lovely genuine bike with superb history and nice spec.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

I do like a decent old school K12 and this is a nice one! Only 2 owners from new. BMW GB and then the last owner from 2003! Used extensively for European touring. the bike has been off the road for the last 2 years due to on going illness. His riding days are now over. so I have got the bike.

SPECIFICATION AND EXTRAS:

ABS. Panniers. Heated grips and heated seat. cruise control. BMW soft bag for rear rack. Tank bag with 2 bags. Garmin sat nav mount(NO nav) Autocom intercom system.

SERVICE HISTORY:

Very good as you might hope. but not in the last 2 Years. It all works and seems to need nothing.

I would do an annual/42 K now to get back on track.

FAULTS AND ISSUES:

Very little above the usual wear and tear. The bike has been over lightly both sides which has caused a few marks. bottom of LH pannier is worst. but you can't really see it much at all.

Stone chip in the headlight but sealed. and not noted on the MOT at all. otherwise is not bad at all.

The steering damper is stiff which is affecting the low speed handling. but might free off with a bit of use. If not I would take it off as it is really not needed.

TEST RIDE DETAILS:

Really nice! Smooth and really well riding. Feels nice and as it should for the miles.

Otherwise not bad at all and all goes as it should.  

CONCLUSIONS:

A really nice example. very genuine and honest. A great history and of course I careful owner for the last 12 Years!

A credit to him and a great bike.

I am located in the south west. close to the A303. the M3 and about an hour from Bath. Bristol and Southampton. Two hours' drive/90 miles from London.

I am also convenient for a mainline railway station with direct services from London Waterloo and I would be happy to collect you from the local railway station if you wish to travel here by train and then ride the bike home.

I am happy to discuss delivery (for a fee) if this helps. as I have a pick up truck. or to advise on collection services.

I am selling this bike as a TRADER and I do this as my full-time occupation. with 30+ years experience in the trade.

The bike IS NOT registered to me but will be on a dealer S. O. R. N. Most of my stock is purchased directly from official dealers. so the bikes have been checked by the dealer as well as myself. I will always ride and check the machines myself before sale. and they are fully able to be ridden home. unless otherwise noted in the ad. It may not have any tax . but there is a Post Office a few minutes from the house if you need/want to tax it. I have a very fine professional mechanic friend who does work for me. so anything done on the bikes is done by an expert.
