1966 BMW R69S - Original Paint - 3x matching numbers - Very Nice!

Here we have a lovely Original Paint 1966 BMW R69S in super shape. This bike features some great accessories - vintage Bowman Aluminum Oilpan that has a nice vintage oil temperature gauge plumbed into it. Also included is an original VDO tachometer assembly that is driven by the oil pump. The bike still has its original Hydraulic steering damper in perfect working order - I replaced the bushing in the pivot mechanism - so it works correctly. Correct carbs and original optional High Lip Weinmann Aluminum rims. Recently the bench seat and mufflers were replaced with new correct parts. A glass mat type 6v battery was installed to decrease the likeliness of damage by acid leak. The tires are in great shape and the bike runs and rides perfectly. A matching Wixom Ranger fairing is included and is perfect for touring. This example is a great find for the BMW collector or fan that enjoys an authentic machine that has not been over-restored. Original paint and plating most everywhere with some small touching up here and there. The original 6v electrical system works perfectly. Extra thick aluminum cylinder base gaskets were added to make using premium pump gas sufficient for this high compression machine. This loweres the compression just enough. The engine trans and final drive were rebuilt with new Pistons Bearings Gaskets and seals only a few thousand miles ago. Slinger service was performed at that time and since then the oil has been changed at 1000 miles or less intervals. Magneto timing was set using a special mag timing device and it makes this bike run and start just right. The bike comes with a clear California title and is ready for the road.
