Description

Up for your consideration is a 2002 BMW 650 GS dual sport motorcycle. Fantastic bike thats RELIABLE and very ECONOMICAL. I've owned this bike for 6-7 years and have had 20000 miles of memories. (bike has around 24500 miles which may vary if I get it out for a nice afternoon ride or decide to take it to work). Actually it is my wife's bike and as seen in one of the pictures I had a 650 Dakar version for a while before I moved up to a little bigger RT bike. The only reason to sell is garage space and lack of riding time. Someone might as well RIDE this bike and get the enjoyment out of why we all ride in the first place. As we go through the seasons of life things change and if me and the misses get an opportunity to ride we'll go 2 up on my bike. Two issues to know about are first I've used some black duct tape on one of the rear view mirrors to help with rigidity. (replace if you'd like $10-50). Secondly here recently I've noticed the speedo/Tach/clock display "jumps" around until the bike gets warmed up? It seems to work itself out and with low riding time I haven't delved into the "issue" to see whats up. The bike does come with some nice pluses! (1) A set of GIVI cases---BOTH SIDE CASES IF "RESERVE" is MET plus TOP CASE with back rest IF "BUY IT NOW". The top case has ridden on my RT on our last motorcycle trip. (2)A Dakar seat which is much more padded (softer) than a stock 650 seat. (3)A "Laminar Lip" mounted atop of an already taller windshield for more wind deflection. (4) A cruise buster wrist rest. (5) Hand shields/protectors. (5) next to the rear tail/brake light are small LED hyper lights that flash rapidly when you apply the brakes to make followers aware. (6)Also a BMW tank bag! Let me know if you'd like the hundreds of pages I have printed out on this bike--on "how to do things take care of things maintain things fix or determine things specifications and more!! The tires still have life also. If you look through all the pictures you should see all the things I have mentioned above. An unbelievable story of how economical this bike has been on occasion. A few years back while traveling in the smokey mountains my wife got 80+ MPG! Albeit we were only riding 45-50 mph so we could enjoy the ride but still!! I routinely get 70MPG when I ride it and I'm bigger/heavier and ride normally a little faster. So speed and weight make a difference but NO bike this size gets close to those numbers! Please call if any questions 1-660-216-0440. PS: If you need a smaller in town or farm bike I'm selling my sons Yamaha XT225 he rode for a few years. Asking $1250 for it. Again thanks for looking.
