1976 BMW R75/6 and Vetter Terraplane Sidecar

1976 BMW R75/6 (750cc) with 28633 or so miles and 1981 Vetter Terraplane Sidecar.

I have owned the BMW from 2008 on and I just bought the Vetter Terraplane sidecar earlier this year. I wanted a motorcycle and sidecar rig so I was going to build one but another BMW with a sidecar became available for purchase so I will sell this one. The BMW was bought at a motorcycle shop in south eastern Michigan in 2008 and I was told it came from a collection that was part of an estate. The Vetter Terraplane Sidecar was purchased in northern Indiana in 2015. It was also part of an estate and came off a Goldwing but will mount on most motorcycles.

I have NOT mounted the sidecar yet so if you purchase these two you will have to mount it yourself or get a professional to do it for you. I believe there are sidecar mounting instructions on the ADV database (ADVrider.com) go to the “Hacks” thread. (you may have to join to see all information but it is free). Also should be information on the United Sidecar Association site Sidecar.com as well but you may have to join it to.

BMW motorcycle details

• I have owned it from 2008.

• 28633 miles on it now.

• I have put less than 1000 miles (I think) on it.

• It had new tires on it when I bought it and they still look new (have nubs).

• It also had new mufflers on it when I bought it.

• New battery last year.

• Has tool kit and original manual.

• Has extra passenger back rest......see picture.

• Starts and runs but needs carbs cleaned........I have not rode it much in the last two years.

• Comes with clear Illinois title.

• Needs some clean up and the rear fender was painted and striped by a previous owner and could use a repaint and re-stripe.....I had saddle bags on it so they cover up the fender.

• There is also one small 'smudge' in the front fender paint/stripe about the size if a nickel. Other wise no dents in fenders or tank.

• I also noticed when I got it out today that the steering seemed stiff. I don't know if it is the grease or what. It seemed to steer stiff but no grinding or notches so the grease just may be a little stiff.

Vetter Terraplane Sidecar details

• I believe it to be a 1981.

• Very nice condition …...no major scratches and NO cracks.

• DOES NOT have the brackets/clamps that attach on the motorcycle but most people build their own as each motorcycle requires different mounting brackets.

• Windshield in great shape.

• Seat in good shape but needs re-glued to seat back in some places. No tears in seat.

• Origional Vetter stereo and tape player ….. if your into that.

• There is one dent in the front bumper part of the frame but the frame is straight.

• Tire is not that good and will need to be replaced soon.

• I have a mounting manual and owners manual printed from internet by previous owner.

I tried to represent the bike as fairly as I can because I do not want people to buy then have regrets. Remember bike is NOT attached to the sidecar and needs the carbs cleaned. I had it stored in a heated/air conditioned shop and I took it out today and started it and ran it for a few minutes until it would idle without the choke on. It ran fine but still will need the carbs cleaned.

Reserve is set at a fair price actually a lot lower than most rigs I have seen sell lately.

Ebay says not to reveal reserves and I don't so don't ask.

No Warranty comes with Bike and Sidecar.

Buyer pays for shipping from Central Ill........I may know a good shipper if needed.

Winning bidder must deposit $500 in my PayPal account within 48 hours of end of auction and remainder payed by cash or check within 7 days of end of auction. Any and all checks even bank checks will take 10 days to clear before winning bidder may take possession of bike sidecar and title.
