1964 BMW R69S. Shortly after purchase in Nov of 2012 I contacted BMW Group Archives, ndreas.harz@partner.bmwgroup.com, n Germany regarding the VIN 658539 build date. I was told, nd I have documentation from BMW, hat the manufacture date was the 4th of February 1964, nd delivered on 26th March 1964 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York, ity. Triple numbers matching with correct number matching carbs. The bike currently has 8,203 miles with the work below, arbs and Top End being done at 7,859 miles. Thus, t has 344 miles on the work described below. The machine has been properly cared for, tored, nd maintained under mine and previous owners possession. The finish is a factory BMW color called Turf Green. It gives off almost a ocean blue color, nd attracts a lot of attention. BMW offered Black, ed, over White, nd Turf Green in the early 60's on their machines. This a bit different and nicely presented outside of the standard Black.Paint I believe was done early 2012 and still looks new with hand painted pin stripes. The paint would have less than 400 miles on it.Previous owner claimed slingers had been cleaned during his ownership, rior to mine. There are no abnormal noises coming from the engine. Solid strong running, ith no knocks, tc... The machine doe not smoke at idle or on hard acceleration, s Randy Long did a light hone on the sleeves and re-ringed the piston during his head work. When I pulled the oil pan cover, ee notes in photos, t was clean with no sludge, ooked like a new engine, n pan and up underneath. When I purchased the bike in Nov of 2012 it was was 90% restored at the time. Paint work done. Very presentable bike. I am super meticulous and wanted to take it to the next level. Below is a listing of the work I had performed of which I have documentation to back up..Work performed under my ownership.26 April 2012 I sent both Valve covers, eads, leeves, nd pistons to Randy Long's Custom Mechanical Services in Honey Brook, A for full restoration at a cost of $ 840.00. See detailed photo of receipt of work completed.29 April 2013 I sent both Carbs to Bing Agency Intrl for a full rebuild. Total cost $425.00. See photo of detailed work done. All lights, urn signals, witches work. Machine will cruise at highway speeds without issue. Starts cold on 2nd 3rd kick, nce warm and shut down starts on 1st kick. Metzeler tires are like new and do not need replacing. Exhaust pipes and rims are clean and like new as well.I also installed the silicone gaskets for valve covers and oil pan. These make for ease in removal / installation as they can continually be used over and over.Bike retains it's 6 volt system. I replaced the battery with a dry cell, ot the common acid type.I also have the matching passenger dual Denfeld seat with attaches to the rear fender. I removed it because I thought it gave the machine a cleaner look. It is included in the sale too.Note this bike retains the larger gas tank, .5 gallons with the locking map case. These generally sell on e-bay over $1,000.***(See photos of copies of receipts of detailed work done)******(See my hand written notes, n photos, f the work I performed on the machine from 17 Nov 2012 @ 7,789 to present 8,203 miles today)*****I have additional receipts for work performed with above totaling over $1,700.Also to the above work done, had the push rod tubes, ir intake tubes, isc bolts around handle bars, nd dampener knob to be professionally re-chromed. They now look awesome as demonstrated in the photos. This bike is an alternative hard asset investment. I don't feel you will lose money if you maintain it to like standards, s it will appreciate in years to come. No CEO scandals, hat's happening in Greece, r the stock market, tc.... People are placing funds in hard assets and collectibles that they can touch and enjoy over time.Reason for selling is that we recently relocated from Illinois to Wisconsin and want to shift my interests into four wheel collectibles.
Please ask any questions before bidding if unsure of anything, r just to discuss the machine. This will put us both at ease that I have a comfortable buyer and I am comfortable as the seller.Contact me if you have zero feedback before bidding. I will cancel all zero feedback bidders. No warranty express or implied as this is a used machine.
