Description

91+k miles (I'm still riding it around town occasionally so the mileage may increase slightly)It has the adjustable bars with heated grips. The left cam chain tensioner has been updated so there is no death rattle at startup. Oil sight glass has been replaced and safety wired. just to be sure. Michelin Pilot Road 2 front tire (1/2 or more worn) and a nearly new Pirelli Angel GT on the rearFox mono-clicker front shockM97 gearboxK&N Air FilterOdyssey PC680 Battery. Details:I built this bike from two crashed bikes and a frame with a clear title in 2010. I've put about 15. 00 trouble free miles on it since. The title and frame are from a 1995 R1100RS built in September of 1994. The motor is from the same build month. so there are no part ordering issues. using the VIN / build month except for the full fairing body work from the RSL and the transmission having been updated to the M97 gearbox. The trip odometer will not reset to 0. 10 is as close as it gets and you have to spin the reel a few times to get there. I replaced the vent / water drain lines in the tank and the fuel filters this spring. I messed something up with the fuel level sending unit in the process and it always reads low now. I haven't bothered to pull the tank back off again. but it will be easy since I added quick connects from Beemer Boneyard at the same time.  The clutch / transmission splines showed some wear at the last spline lube (80. 05 miles). The splines on the clutch disk hub were pretty bad. so I installed a hub in good condition from another disk. I just pulled the starter this spring to inspect the freeplay at the spline and it is about the same as when I did the spline lube so I don't see a failure happening any time soon. I'd plan on re-lubing and inspecting the splines by 100. 00 miles. There are some scratches and chips here and there and the system cases are pretty rough looking. There are a couple spots where the paint is worn though on the tail section near the luggage rack. There is a small piece missing from the upper edge of the left fairing where it meets the tank. There was oil seepage around the front cover of the engine and the right head gasket. I re-torqued all the hardware on the engine at the time and haven't noticed the condition worsening. That was back in 2010.
