For sale as-is. Used former CHP BMW motorcycle. I purchased off CL back in 2009 and have enjoyed a few rides each year, ut find my self with less and less time. Could certainly be a daily driver [45 MPG]. Can hum along comfortably in 5th gear at 70 MPH - then drop into 6th gear
Also throwing in the electrically heated inner jacket since I won't need it anymore. Size large.
Bike was purchased at auction [this isn't from the lot that Arnold signed]. CHP destroyed all maintenance records to prevent getting sued. I have most maintenance records from my ownership.
Good:
Runs smooth. Only mechanical failure was a couple years ago when a fuse blew. Replaced with a spare and no subsequent problems.
Brand new starter motor just put in. Old one was original and brushes were starting to miss
Brand new windshield. Still in shrink wrap, aiting for you to peel off
Fresh oil change
Rear tire in excellent condition
Clutch was checked as good 1,000 miles ago by dealer
Front ABS system functional
Seat is in good condition. No splits
Crash bars were taken off and chrome removed. Retreated with powder coat [see pics]
Pannier lids changed to larger size for increased storage
Trickle charger installed for 110v battery charging
outlet for electrically heated clothing in radio box
Bad:
12 year old bike that was beat up by CHP. Fairings are worn [see pics for details]
Front tire should probably be replaced soon
Rear ABS motor non-op, rakes still work just fine. ~$800 to fix. Brake failure light on [see pic]
The clock creates a parasitic draw that kills the battery. I put a kill switch in the radio box
Test rides can easily be arranged but will require: own helmet, roof of insurance and M1 motorcycle endorsement on current [not expired] drivers license.
