1983 BMW R100RS Classic Sport Tourer, Amazing Condition

Gorgeous 1983 BMW R100RS sport touring 1000cc opposed twin motorcycle with original lustrous Alaska Blue paint with meticulously applied silver pinstripes on the tank, airing and fenders. If you are looking at this beauty you KNOW what these bikes are about and how hard they are to find in this unmolested condition. I've owned 6 "airhead" BMWs (including 4 RS'es) and this one by far runs the best - strong, ight, orgeous, nd fun. I love the RS'es and have an expensive framed print of the 1923-83 BMWs on my living room wall. I can send you a pic of it if you like! I'm a dyed-in-the-wool "BMW guy." You'll love this RS.
This machine has NEVER been dropped or downed at any speed. The beautifully classic wind tunnel designed full fairing has ZERO cracks or patches like many others of this vintage. Zero leaks or other mechanical issues! Zero dents or issues with the tank. You will not be disappointed by any means. This, olks, s a FIND.
The bike handles amazingly well for a 32 year old bike. The steering head bearings are tight with no notching, he aftermarket Koni shocks still have great damping, nd the forks don't seep and are well sprung and damped as well. The Brembo brakes actually inspire confidence rather than fear - 2 fingers will haul this down nicely. An experienced rider can surprise and embarrass lesser riders on more modern machines on this brilliant Bavarian twin. The bike starts right up and idles great with the manual choke (remember those?). The battery is fresh and kept on a Battery Tender when not ridden. I run this on premium non-Ethanol gas whenever possible. Dual fuel filters keep any crud from entering the sexy Bing carbs. :)

• BMW System Cases - This RS comes with BMW's perfect System Cases (hard bags or paniers) which are in superb condition with original internal clothes straps and haveno cracks or leaks. They hold a lot and come off easily for toting your stuff into the hotel room for the night. Or to hold your laptop on your daily commute.
• Corbin Leather Dual seat with backrest - designed for all day comfort, his leather Corbin dual seat is perfect for both rider and passenger alike, nd also comes with the removable passenger backrest, orwhich your significant other will surely thank you for their extra security and safety. The seat is perfect - no splits or cracks. It does need the rear hinge replaced, ut it still latches perfectly.
• BMW factory luggage rack
• Everything works - except the odometer, hich quit working in the last year or two (receipts will prove this). Speedometer and tachometer work great, nd I have not felt it necessary to send the unit to Palo Alto Speedometer in CA to be rebuilt (they quoted me $285 to do so).
• Receipts - I have detailed service receipts for all work performed on the bike since 2001 and can email you my Google Docs link to them for anyone who is interested. This bike has never been neglected or ignored and it SHOWS.
• Continental radial tires - in stock sizes - installed by local dealer Bill's Motorcycles Plus here in Salem, R - they were pricey but well worth it - the best tires you can get for your airhead BMW.
• Original BMW tool kit and air pump included!
