This 2007 BMW R1200GS is in great working condition.Due to personal situation, eed to sell. The bike is stock with the exception of a throttle-side cruise control (not electronic or factory– mechanical 3d party – see pic). Also, local BMW mechanic added a Power Commander which makes this a VERY strong engine. No oil leaks or consumption. New Michelin tires front and back (about 2 months old) and a battery that is strong and only about 6 months old. This bike is mechanically sound in all regards and very easy to ride/comfortable. I’ve also installed a cargo platform behind the passenger seat that comes in very handy when camping or making trips with a little extra gear. I make note of some scuffing/scarring on the cylinder heads and provide some more details here. Both cylinder heads have been lightly scuffed from low speed (walking speed) crashes where I got caught riding off-road when I first got it and found myself in deep sand. That was the end of my off-road riding. There is a little more substantial scarring on the left cylinder head that occurred as a result of another walking speed left turn crash pulling away from a full stop. At the time, ad Metzler tires onboard and I had not ridden the bike in months – and I’ve been told (after the fact) that they tend to develop oil on the surface from the tire rubber – which made them slick as glass. Got rid of those POS tires and replaced with these great Michelins. None of the cylinder head scuffing/scarring affects the operation or reliability of the bike or the engine. Hurt my ego though. As I mentioned earlier, his engine is very strong with tons of torque. Set it on 80mph to cruise and it’ll deliver 40mpg. It has the mounting hardware to accept BMW side bags. I’ve also installed a Touratech license plate holder/rear mud guard in place of the cheesy factory hardware – gives it a European look. And there’s a Touratech mount on the handlebars to hold your smartphone to use the GPS nav feature. This is a great riding and fun motorcycle – and it kills me to sell it and to get out of motorcycling. Had my fun but finances, chedule, nd age dictate the sale. Can take and send more pics if needed.
