I am selling my R1200GS. We are moving to the Northern Virginia area and need money for down payment on a house. Since we have two small children, do not have much time to ride any longer, o the first things to go are the motorcycles.
This bike is absolutely wonderful and incredibly comfortable for long rides. I have made a one day trip 900 mile trip to the end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on this bike, s well as a trip to Maine in a day. It handles highway and twisties with delight. I have also never had it down. I have never taken it off road, he most adventurous "off roading" I have done with this motorcycle is some well maintained gravel roads in the Monongahela National Forest in WV on the back way up to Spruce Knob. This motorcycle will be missed, ut I'm hoping it will go to a good home that can enjoy it as I did.
The bike has a clear WV title in my name. It starts and runs fine, ut the ABS needs flushed. The brakes work, ut the ABS light flashes. Fluids have been changed regularly.I did change the engine and gear oil at the start of the summer but it did not leave the garage at all past that.
I am available to show it during the week from our storage unit in Manassas, A.
It comes with a cover and spare front tire. I also have some other random gear that I no longer need that I'm willing to throw in to sweeten the deal. More pictures are available upon request. It is also for sale locally. I drive from Morgantown, V to Manassas, A on a regular basis and can meet a buyer anywhere along that route for drop off if needed.

On Nov-03-15 at 05:10:11 PST, eller added the following information:Update (11/03/2015):
- The bike is also for sale locally at the Buy It Now price of $6,100 and I will delete this listing if a buyer purchases it before the auction closes.
- It has been garage kept its entire life
- I was reminded that there is an open recall on this BMW for the rear wheel flange. I have the documentation on this repair, t is covered by BMW
- There are more pictures available upon request
- In taking more pictures I found two scratches on the left front fairing, hey are about 2 inches long. I'm uncertain where they came from, ut I wanted to make sure it was covered in the listing. They can be easily repaired with a little gray paint.
Update (11/06/2015) :
- I had a few questions about the rear foot pegs missing. They are actually on the bike, ut they are on the cylinder heads. They are quick disconnects that can be moved between using them for normal passenger use, r on the cylinder heads so the driver can stretch out.
- I forgot to mention that there are handle bar risers on the bike right now. Also, he handle bars can be adjusted to tilt forward and back to accommodate the ergonomics of whoever is riding it.
- In showing the bike to an interested gentleman, he ABS warning light went off with a little riding. However, 'd like to warn I do not believe that the new battery fixed the original issue. When the problem occurred to me, t was intermittent. I first noticed it going on a trip to Ohio, he front brake went a bit mushy for a few minutes, hen came back to normal. Then after a while it went back to mushy, nd then back to normal. Immediately after, spoke to a mechanic at a BMW shop in Pittsburgh describing what was going on with it. He suspected there to be air in the ABS unit. The mechanic thought a flush should fix it. I never found the time to do the flush, lthough I did buy the fancy funnel that screws into the ABS unit.
- Also in showing the bike, e found that the fog lights are not operational. I'm uncertain if I screwed something up in putting the battery back in, r if something is functionally wrong with them.
