Description of [1958 BMW R69 for sale] "The BMW R 69 VIN 653309 was manufactured on January 31st, 958 and delivered on the same day to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat." For sale a numbers matching 1958 BMW R69. This is the successor of the very rare and collectable R68 and predecessor of the famous R69S. This is a 2 kick motorcycle, t has factory spark advance mechanism, orrect ISGUS brand speedo, cron high lip aluminum rims with stainless spokes, atching carbs 1/26/09 and 1/26/10 respectively. Bike starts easily and drives like a 58 year old champ. Bike comes with a set of tools, ock key and 2 ignition keys. Very rare motorcycle less than 3000 ever produced. Restore or ride as is. This is an older restoration completed in at "BOB'S BMW World" in Chicago IL in 1998. The scope of work included following:

* Engine disassembled, ew pistons, leaned slingers,

* Transmission and rear differential gone over w new bearings and seals,

* New Progressive Shocks,

* 12V Conversion kit from Ed Korn installed,

* Schorsch Meier Sport Tank Installed,

* New paint and stripes, /p>

Recent tuneup was just performed by the same BMW mechanic that did the initial work in 1998.

The R69 is high up on the list of desirable vintage BMW's. Of the post war bikes the R68 may be at the top, ith the R69 being second. The first because it is the sportiest bike from a short post war period, he second because of limited numbers. This 1958 R69 was a new beginning for BMW, ut just the first step in the evolution of the bike called the R69.

If the seller is an Illinois Dealer, he following charges apply: 1) $20 drive-away permit[unless transferring plates] and 2) AZ, A, L, I, N, L, A, I, C residents must include their state's sales tax with payment[unless shipping]. Residents of other states pay taxes and license/registrations fees in their home state, ealers exempt.

Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end, nd make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction.
