1998 BMW R1100RT-P (Police) Motorcycle

Up for sale is my 1998 BMW R1100RT-P (Police) w/ 63k miles.

This BMW came from a small NJ municipal department where it was well maintained by Cross Country BMW in Metuchen, J. Since that time, t has been garage kept and minimally used. I bought the bike from a coworker. I am now the 3rd owner if you count the original Police Dept. It is all original minus the Givi tank bag I have added which can be easily removed. I have also added a battery tender.

What I like about this bike is that it is the perfect base for turning into a long distance rider. It has items like an extra battery and larger alternator to power all your extra long distance electronics. Also, he running gear is a little taller. See all the specifications here. Many say these are some of the best handling bikes ever made and it is not uncommon for these BMW boxer motors to reliably last into the 200k mileage range and beyond.

It has several outlets for hooking up heated gear and also a motorized windscreen that really does a good job of blocking the wind. It really is a comfortable bike for long distances.

Bike works well with no issues. I would not hesitate to ride it anywhere. While it is in good shape, lease recognize that it does have a few scratches from its time as an enforcement motor. It is currently tagged and insured in the state of Delaware. I also have all the original Police equipment that came with this bike however I would have no idea how to get it working again. The parts are there and wiring diagrams are readily available online, f that's what you're looking to do. Please check the laws in your state if you do plan on making it enforcement ready. Additionally, here are companies that sell the rear seat and underlying components to make this into a standard two up touring bike.

I am somewhat flexible on price. The low reserve should reflect this. I am more interested in seeing it go to someone who would enjoy and use it. If interested, et me know what you're thinking on a price. Also, can deliver within a reasonable distance (1 days drive) from Wilmington, E using my truck and a trailer for a small fee, asically the cost of gas and the trailer rental. Further distances are open to discussion on a case by case basis. Of course, eather permitting, lying in to PHL and riding out are always an option.

I am looking to sell due to having too many projects and wanting to move to a smaller home.
