Description

I have a lot of time, ffort and money into listing this motorcycle on ebay. Please be respectful of that and do not bid until you have read the entire description/terms of the auction and are certain that you intend to follow through with the sale. Your bid is a contract to buy.

I have the listing set up to accept bids only from US bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining my auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US and you have a way to have the bike picked up at my location without it being crated, et me know and I will add you to the list that allows you to bid.

This Slash 5 is a really nice survivor. The paint appears to be original and is mostly in very nice shape. The front of the front fender is a bit dull and there are minor flaws elsewhere as can be expected of a bike this age, ut it looks great overall. There is a small dent in the tank on the right side above the knee pad. The right muffler has some battery acid stains. There are four holes drilled on the sides of the engine that look like they had something mounted to them in the past. The lower holes on either side are part of the factory design. The pushrod tube seals leak some oil as is very common on these old Beemers. The center stand seems a little worn out or bent. It swings back a too far making it difficult to push the bike off the stand. The ignition switch has been updated to one that uses a real key instead of "the nail" that can be used to start any old BMW with a factory ignition switch. The speedometer/odometer has just been completely rebuilt and it works beautifully. It has a brand new battery and a fresh oil and filter change. It has new fuel lines and filters, nd one new fuel valve. The engine valves, gnition timing, nd carburetors have all just been adjusted to factory spec. It needs almost no choke to start up. It warms up quickly, ven in cold weather. It idles steadily and accelerates incredibly smoothly with really nice power. The clutch action and shifting are both nice and smooth. All of the electrical equipment works as it should. This classic is ready for its new owner to enjoy it for many, any more miles.

There are 107 pictures below detailing the condition of the bike. Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. You can call me at 312-878-8711 or contact me through ebay.
