Description

For auction is my 1970 BMW R75/5. The bike is all original and un-restored in any way. It's the earliest /5 I've come across with matching frame and engine serial numbers of 1132. While it's not a show piece, t has a rather nice patina over the whole bike. There is some light surface rust but no heavy corrosion anywhere. The true milage is unknown because the numbers have flaked off the odometer as most do. The title reflects 40,000 miles which I believe to be about accurate. The engine starts, uns and shifts as it's supposed to and the bike rides and stops well. All electricals work as they should, tarter, orn, linkers, rake light, i-Lo Beam...etc. The original tool kit, torage tray and air pump are still under the seat. The fuel tank has a couple shallow dings on the right front side, ut the original red coating is intact and there is no rust inside. Some additions appear to have been installed such as a chrome headlight guard, rash bars and rear luggage rack. The seat has both original grab rails but the passenger strap is missing. The previous owner also changed the rear shocks to Hagons and the silver/gold intake tubes to black ones, ut I have the originals which will go with the sale. One of the most interesting things about the bike is the fact that it has a complete maintenance history going back to the date of purchase. The folder with the records contains the owners manual, ll service records and parts receipts and even the original sales receipt from 4/25/70! The bike currently has a clear Pennsylvania title.
All fluids were recently changed and cables lubed and adjusted. Battery is in good condition.
Please ask any questions before bidding. All pictures serve as part of the description so please look at the carefully. This is a unique opportunity for a BMW collector to own a very early example of the R75/5. I will work with your shipper or I can suggest some that I work with and trust. Thanks for looking. Good Luck.
