Almost 25 years ago, e at AlphaCars, stablished thehighest imaginable standardsfor the quality of our pre-owned vehicles. With nodeviation, these standards are maintained today. With no exceptions, ach pre-ownedvehicle has to pass a rigoroustechnicalinspection followedby the most thorough service work andconcourselevel detailing.
The BMW R90/6 was the top of the line model that BMW offered at the time. Equipped with their largest engine at the time a 898cc unit that produces just under 60hp. It was an instant success. Customers bought the R90s very quickly and in large numbers. And with their larger engines, MW was able to convert some of the sport-bike, awasaki riders into BMW riders.
This particular BMW has just gone through an extensive engine overhaul and reconditioning. No expense was spared in making this R90 run just as it would have come out of the factory. The previous owner spent over $6,000 on mechanical reconditioning of the whole drivetrain. An extensive service invoice is available that shows the total cost of rebuilding and reconditioning of the engine and components.
What makes this BMW even more unique is the custom sidecar that has been professionally installed next to the motorcycle. This sidecar is in great condition and handles wonderfully with the way the R90/6 has been setup. The ride is very stable and the handling is secure and solid. The built in canopy on the sidecar provides the passenger a chance to stay protected from the wind and rain, hile still riding in comfort. The rider gets a custom fairing made by Rabid Transit. This fairing comes loaded with custom pockets, p-lifter switches, pgraded headlight and directional, nd even the original installation instructions and brochure. In addition there are two hard sided saddle bags that are in great condition both inside and out.
This is one unique example of an early BMW that has been customized and very well cared for. The next owner is going to be quite impressed with how well running and setup this R90 is.
