BMW R850R

For Sale is my BMW R850R. I bought this as something to get me round as my previous bike was smashed up and is part of an ongoing insurance claim. I have only had it a few weeks but it just doesn't interest me so I am selling it. I have had a few BMW's now so know what to look for and this one seemed to tick all the boxes despite the fairly high mileage for a bike. It runs and rides as it should and although a bit tatty in places is a reasonable looking bike.

The previous owner fitted a new clutch at around 52. 00 miles. This works perfectly along with the gearbox which selects all gears as it should and doesn't slip out of gear.   The final drive works as it should with no nasty noises and there is no play in the swingarm or final drive. The brakes were recently overhauled with braided lines. new fluid. discs and pads so now it stops really well. Much better than some superbikes I have ridden. I have given the bike a major service less than 500 miles ago including the valve clearances and fuel filter.

I fitted the Puig screen as i found the wind blast of a naked bike too much but this can be easily removed if you want to. It has the usual BMW flaky paint coming off the engine which could be tidied up but I didn't see the point on a bike of this age/mileage. The tank is in good condition with the odd mark here and there but nothing drastic. the rear panels are perfect with no marks at all.

There is a givi rack for a top box and also the pannier rails. I do have the panniers for the bike which are not included but I will offer to the winner for £150. they have the locks matched to the ignition key so are ready to use if the winner would like them.

The new owner will need to tax the bike due to the new rules that come in on 1st october but it does have an MOT until the 8th March 2015. The bike does have some leaky fork seals which will need attention before the MOT. I didn't get round to doing these as I decided to sell the bike and they don't affect how it rides but will need doing for the MOT.

This bike would be an ideal winter hack. Despite the mileage. the bike runs well and has had most of the consumables replaced recently meaning no big bills in the near future.

I can do viewings on evenings after 7pm or mornings before 9:30. unfortunately i can't do any other times due to work.
