This is my 1978 Chang Jiang CJ750 sidecar model. which is basically a direct copy of a BMW R71. These started out in Germany by BMW produced in 1938-1941. then copied by the Russians after BMW went to overhead valve. the Russian model designated as an M72. (1942-1963) then picked up by the Chinese in the/early 60s and produced steadily to near the present day. All the while it remained true to its 1940s side-valve design with some parts interchangeable with the original R71.
This one has been restored to a more presentable German style/specification w. German style fenders. BMW emblems. black lacquered paint. painted or powdercoated wheels & hubs. coffee can tail light. vintage style turn signals. polished cases. polished heads. levers. updated mechanicals and many extra spares to boot. Zoom in on the engine pix for a detailed look. its quite nice! This bike looks great. starts easy and runs like a clock.
Bike and I are down here in beautiful Daytona Beach Florida for Biketoberfest. where it gets a lot of attention. In about a week. the bike and I will be headed up I95 to our Pennsylvania second home. Hurry now to see the bike here in Florida or make an offer. Clear title in my own name. . . . and check back soon for more pictures of the bike! Thank you
