For Sale is my BMW K1100RS first registered in 1995 I bought the bike in August 2012 and have covered a measly 2. 49 miles since then. The bike has never missed a beat and is reliable as a volkswagen. The bike is amazingly fast and is a lot of fun even with two-up. However. I broke an arm in a cycling accident last year and so use of the BMW has been curtailed because of continued pain in my wrist - I need something a bit more upright (I would be interested in swapping/partXing a 600-800cc single!). The body work is in amazing condition (I think it may have been resprayed at some point in the past) and the engine is as sweet as any K series (I have owned a K100. and a K1 in the past and this 1100RS has the same characteristic buzz at 4k but substantially more acceleration). The K1100 RS had a shorter final drive than the K1 had so it has a far more sporty feel through the gears. Now for the bad bits. yes. it looks amazing but there are a couple of things to be aware of;1. The MOT ran out in October and the Tax runs out at the end of this month too. 2. The left fork seal has started to leak so needs doing3. The ignition switch failed in December 2012 due to corrosion at the bottom - where the electrical bits take place. I bought new wire set from the coil to the ignition switch and a new lock and key from BMW Motorworks and whilst I fitted the wiring to enable the ignition to be switched on under the fairing. I wasn't able/brave enough to drill out the bolts that held the ignition barrel in place. The replacement and key will be provided to the purchaser for them to be more able than me. 4. The front offside indicator lens was damaged by a Virgin Media Transit which knocked it off and drove away whilst the bike was parked. see the picture. It still works fine. however and the mirror is fine too. So. the bike will need to be trailered or put in a vanThe lucky buyer is responsible to collect the bike within 7 days of listing end. cash on collection.
