1965 BMW R50 R50/2 R 50 MOTORCYCLE VINTAGE MOTOR BIKE NUMBERS MATCH PROJECT

Up for sale is a 1965 BMW R50/2 motorcycle.   Frame and fork have no damage. cracks. dents or previous chopping that I can see.   The engine turns smooth and has compression. No broken fins.  Good survivor for a full restoration. or get it running. throw some new tires on it and cruise it around.   The gentleman I purchased this bike from owned it since 1972. He said it ran fine. until a few years ago he took it apart to do some powder coating. He got ill and that's the way it has been sitting and that's exactly how I bought it. I just wiped off the dust for the pictures. so you can see what it is.   The is the first R50 I've owned. I am not an expert on them. so if you have any questions. don't be shy. I want you to be happy with what you are buying and don't want to hear any complaining afterward. The numbers match on the engine/frame/headbadge/title.   I have laid out every piece that came with the bike. please look over pictures good. what you see is what you will receive. I think it's all there or almost all there anyway. I don't have the key to the gastank. and one bakelite cover has a chip on the corner.   The seat cover is shot. Some of the chrome is in very nice shape. such as the exhaust(no dings on these either). headlight ring. some chrome is in fair shape. some is in poor shape. The tires are old and should be replaced for safety.   The front rim chrome is nice. the rear is flaking.   While the previous owner kept this bike in a nice dry garage. he did not wrap the freshly powder coated parts well so they have some scratches and minor dings on a few of the parts. The gas tank has some dings and will need to be straightened and repainted or powder coated. You may be starting over on the paint/powdercoating to get it all consistent.   Some of the factory tools are there. some are missing.   Comes with an extra handlebar and the 2 helmets from back in the day. The helmets are in poor shape and should be wallhangers next to the bike to keep them together as they've been for decades.   Clean. clear. open Florida title. If you want a turn key bike. please move on to something else. This is a project that needs someone familiar with old BMWs to give it proper attention/restoration.
