BMW 1985 R100RS Naked

This is a beautiful 1985 BMW R100RS. This machine a custom build by a man who passed away. I finished what he started.  It began as a R100 RS with big RS fairing. Those weigh about 70 lbs. with mounting bracket. Removal makes the machine much sportier.  He had wheels powder coated in deep black. I matched the paint on tank and fender using Glasurit black enamel paint. Paint is beautiful with super high shine. No orange peel.  He was an electrical engineer and tried to make some spacer on the back of speedometer that utilized rear plug power to run other things. I'm not completely clear what he was doing but it destroyed the housing and gauges. I sent to be rebuilt but they took all summer and I got back still damaged. I replaced with a great working speedometer with 90k miles. I wanted to have the replaced unit set to the correct milage but the speedometer repair shop was too backed up for me to wait. The last photo shows the removed speedometer. I'm sending off to be rebuilt at Palo Alto Speedometer and will use on a future project. Not included in this sale. This is a highly desirable motor with the large 40mm Bing carburetors. Heads with large valves. and Nikasil cylinders.  Super clean exhaust. No holes.  Starts and runs perfect.  Super fast ride.  Handles fantastic. Upgraded rear adjustable shock feels amazing in comparison to stock. Nice stiff front fork. Has strong top plate for triple clamp. Just serviced. Fluids changed including filter. Head torqued. Valves adjusted. Carburetors balanced. Timing set.  Tires are in great condition. Not cracked or worn.  I am happy to assist in shipping. Can transport to Los Angles port for international shipping. Has clean California title in my name. No back fees.
