BMW R1100RT Tourer with Satnav

 This is a reluctant sale for me. I bought this bike with the intention of using it to commute my 60 mile round trip. and to get a European tour in before I retire from biking. I have achieved the first part of that. I have commuted this bike for the last 15 months and enjoyed the experience immensely. this bike is just so good. As for the second part. sadly I have been advised to quit riding such a big bike due to the loss of muscle mass that I am suffering. So now you know why - on to the what. This bike is good to go on a tour today. it is Mot'ed until next June. with no advisories. has a recently fitted new front tyre and a new clutch cable. This is all it has needed in the last year (apart from fuel). Speaking of fuel. for a big bike it is not too shabby. Last fill up came in at 49mpg. the tank has a range of over 200 miles (unless you cane it) and the best I have managed is 235 miles before I gave in and filled it. the fuel gauge is very useful. as is the low fuel warning light. As usual with these bikes. the ABS warning light is a bit hit and miss. The trick is to start up. set off down the road. once warmed up. stop. switch off and restart and the ABS lights reset OK. There are a couple of ways to fix it permanently. but it has not bothered me enough to warrant doing any of them. The Satnav is a Garmin Zumo 500 Deluxe. Of course if the satnav is of no interest to you. I could remove it for you. I have fitted a taller. wider screen (which happens to be tinted) as I am a tall rider. If you are not so tall. I can refit the original (non-tinted) screen if you prefer. If you have any questions. please feel free to ask.
