I'm selling my 1998 BMW R1100GS; she's got as much character as a GS can have! I fell for her when I saw her in a bit of a state. but it was obvious she was one of the few GS used for what they were built: proper long-distance travel. I know they're hard to kill. and I get cheap BMW parts (I'm from Berlin). so there was my next winter project. I had a full service done and the brakes overhauled. and did some fun miles on her. But instead of finding the time to doing her up. I fell for a woman and am moving back home. So I'm selling this old beauty. She's perfectly rideable and I've done very enjoyable trips to Dublin. Wales and Brussels without a hiccup. But she is in need of some elbow grease. nbsp;and has a few solvable issues.

Unfortunately. there's some problems as well:
Corrosion. The bike was used by the previous owner as a winter commuter. The paint is a bit dull and there's surface corrosion in a lot of places. Nothing that should worry any one for MOT. but it doesn't look to nice. Runs rich and idles badly when engine is cold. My guess is that the temperature sensor is faulty. She runs just fine and at full power when warm. There's excess play in the shaft drive. This should be an easy fix by replacing the bearing. The MOT is expired. I have no worries at all about getting her through. I only did 400 miles since the last MOT. and that was before the brakes were done. But it does mean you'd have to pick her up on a trailer. or ride directly to a MOT station I can highly recommend. The seat locking assembly was seized. I had to take it off; this means neither the front nor rear seat lock. Only one key. Only one pannier is lockable.I'm also including a replacement rear shock. spare air filter. and roughly half of the on-board tool set (sorry. not my fault). Documentation for past MOTs and some service history are available.
