Description

For sale is a fully rideable R27 250cc. Daily ridden by professional motorcycle mechanic who has owned bike nearly 20 years. Believed to be third owner

Most paint is original and shows scars from 50 years of use. let's just say it has an authentic patina. Tank and rear fender have been repainted.

Top glove box latch modified to use a USA desk key lock. Left side cover has correct BMW 4 sided "key" to open

Headlight bucket was damaged from a fall on right side. but works fine and isn't really in as bad shape as it looks. Headlight ring was replaced and is in excellent shape.

Factory Alum rims. round and undamaged. Most wheel and engine alum were spray painted silver a long time ago. and most has peeled off by now.

Seat condition is poor. the main rubber band is broke and the cover is showing cracks in the cover. Foam will crumble out as it continues to deteriorate.

Tires were replaced in early 90's with 591 Dunlops. showing little wear.  Muffler is bulging around baffles. and with a sizable dent from a incident with a Ossa Wildfire.

Headlight ears and tail light housing were drilled for some sort of crappy bolt on turn signals. Decades ago.   Left bar end t-signal is damaged from fall. missing lens and scuffed from road rash.

Base gasket seeps oil. Clutch is tired. Good compression. Trans shifts well. Speedo was rebuilt. and showing 17. 00ish miles With added back light socket. Mileage is unverifiable.

Electrics have been up graded to 12v. 300wt/20 Amp Alternator. by professional mechanic. New 12v battery. Solid state regulator/rectifier. PVL 12 v coil.

Modern carb. PHBL30 Dellorto this was to cure issues from a worn Bing. Jetted correctly and ridden for years. Starts on one kick. Yes. this is a rider as is.

This bike is all there. Start. stop. run and drives. Would be a easy first time resto. father/son project. or with a new seat enjoy as a unrestored original.
