1981 BMW R100RS

1981 BMW R100RSUp for sale is my 1981 BMW R100RS. An excellent example of the legendary airhead sport tourer!  Original condition all stock. numbers matching. never molested and in excellent condition for a 34 year old motorcycle.  Have clear title ready to transfer. A rare opportunity!I bought the bike from the second owner who had it for over 20 years and stored for approximately the last 10 years.  Looks great & runs fantastic. Great power. pulls well. handles wonderfully.  All electronics work as they should.  It has 29. 96 miles and given the condition and mechanics of the bike I believe this is the true original mileage. Mileage may increase a little as I continue to ride the bike occasionally. Mechanically. the front brake master cylinder was rebuilt. all brake fluid was flushed and replaced. fuel petcocks were rebuilt. gas tank was flushed and cleaned with Metal Rescue (not relined with any of those crappy products). New NGK plus. nbsp;ignition timed. carbs cleaned and adjusted. valves adjusted. all fluids replaced: changed motor filter & oil 15W50 Mobil 1 synthetic. nbsp;transmission and drive 90 weight gear oil. nbsp; fork oil  replaced with Belray 7. 5. Brand new Panasonic sealed battery. Metzeler tires are in good shape with lots of tread.  The bike is ready to ride!Cosmetically. the smoke red paint is in great shape for it's age. shines beautifully with little to no fade. has a few chips and wear marks on the fairing edges. some scrapes on the bottom right side below the cylinder head. some chips on the battery covers and a couple of scratches on the tank closer to the seat area.  Tank is well preserved as all it's owners used the tank cover. Chrome is good with some light pitting. marking and wear on the head pipes. All in all  the bike looks great. See the pics!Bike comes with original removable BMW locking touring cases. BMW tank cover. BMW bike cover (a bit worn but still very usable). older Koni rear shocks. battery tender and I just added a new rear baggage porter seat rack.
