1973 R75/5 BMW Motorcycle Green Toaster Tank
This bike is a two owner bike and has been garaged its entire life. It has just under 4. 00 miles on a fresh refurbishing completed in late March 2014. All seals. clutch plate. rear wheel spine. and timing chain were replaced.
The frame was powder coated and the tank and fenders were color matched and professionally painted BMW stock ?ˆ?grun?ˆ? (what we called Candy-apple green in the early 70s) and pinstriped. The inside of the tank was professionally cleaned and sealed.
Rubber pieces that were weathered or worn were replaced. Stock pipes and aftermarket stock look-a-like mufflers were installed. The seat is original but a replacement skin will come with the bike.
The original speedometer was changed out twice by the original owner and once by myself. The current speedometer/tachometer reads just over 7. 00 miles and works great.
The engine. transmission. wheels. swing arm. steering head. and rear drive were disassembled to replace seals and if needed. bearings. Since the bike was garaged. it did not require replacement of original fasteners so they were reused to keep the bike original as possible. New points and condenser.
New Avon replacement tires were mounted when I purchased the bike last year.
This bike has incredible power and is ?ˆ?BMW smooth?ˆ? riding. The carburetors were cleaned. rebuilt. and adjusted. The bike can be started with kick start or by electric starter. One or two kick/clicks starts it.
This bike is a 50th anniversary model and has a clear California Title. These photos were taken when the bike was completed this spring before the pipes blued and during a trip through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The bike is clean. original equipment (as stated) and will take you up any highway you want to go.
