Up for sale is a 1967 BMW R60/2 with vin #1812469 and 6929 miles!!According to the BMW R60/2 model and build dates this bike was build in Feb. 1967 however it is titled as a 1968. This data info will go with the bike. All numbers match: frame. engine and id-plate. BMW assigned the 620000 serial numbers to the R60/2 models and the 630000 serial numbers to the R50/2 models. BMW started using the 181 pre-fix when they ran out of 62 numbers during 1966. The BMW R60/2 with pre-fix 181 is considered the best of the R60/2 range. Along the production way certain subtle improvements were made to engine. frame and forks resulting in near perfection with the 181 models. 1812469 was discovered in a barn in western Oklahoma. The previous owner who was the second owner. bought the bike in the 1970s driving it only occasionally thus the extremely low mileage. Bike has its original paint from new. it is equipped with a Heinrich tank and a bigass Schorsch Meier bench seat. It also has its original Fehling crash bar. Bike comes with its 2 original Neiman keys. both stamped with#425110 and its original tool roll with tools. Red oxide paint inside the tank still looks like brand new. Bike comes with its original Weinmann 18" steel rims and the period correct Wixom side bags with their original keys. It has an 'S" stamped by the gearbox filler plug. the rear drive ratio is 25/8. Both typical for a Solo bike. Petcock and both pipes are not original previous owner also removed the battery which was good thing. The pipes and petcock were replaced with later style parts. When the previous owner parked the bike he drained the gas tank and filled the cylinders with oil. The bike turns over easy has lots of compression and has spark on both spark plugs. I believe after the carburators have been cleaned he will start right up. This bike is a time warp in truly original condition. I have a free and clear title in my name. Bike is sold: AS IS / WHERE IS. Seller will assist with transport. This sale is not complete until a Bill of Sale is signed by both parties. Good Luck Bidding!
