This is one great motorcycle. It was bad before bad was black. It has no pinstripes. no gaudy decals. no racing stripes. all character - just black. thank you. I am the second owner of this bike and purchased it in North Carolina with about 4. 00 miles on it. It has ABS. fuel injection. driving lights. and a fly windshield. I put on new Metzeler 880 tires front and rear when I got it. The bike has laced wheels. but thanks to BMW innovation. it uses tubeless tires. The tires are in great shape and have at least another 6. 00 miles on them. The bike has had regular maintenance as the oil and filter was changed every year with Amsoil synthetic 20W-50. At about 6. 00 miles the transmission. rear end fluid. and all brake reservoirs brake fluid was changed. The valves were adjusted. along with new fuel filter. new air filter. and new spark plugs. The stock seat was sent to Sargent Seat in Jacksonville. FL. They put gel padding. a carbon like covering. and a BMW striped logo on the seat and backrest. It rides very comfortable and looks fantastic. Speaking of the seat. this model has the rear seat that lets down for a passenger but flips up to make a very comfortable backrest for the rider. When flipped up. the rear fender where the pillion was it now a luggage rack - good engineering. This bike does everything well. It's lightweight. has a low seat height. handles fantastic. it very easy to move around the garage or basement. and is a great bike for a beginner or for someone who appreciates good mechanical design and function. It won't blow the doors off any modern sport bike or crotch rocket. What is will do is cruise the two lanes roads in high gear at 45 mph without a whimper. then jump on the Interstate. take it up to 80 mph and leave it. That big tank and smoothness will take you a long way. Everything on the bike works. The brakes are good. the fuel injection good. the lights work. self cancelling turn signals work. it all works. What is does have is a cracked tailight housing. For this model. it's kind of like a badge of authenticity. This 2000 year. just about all BMWs had the same flaw. The company admitted that it didn't design the housing with the proper webs or whatever. Anyway. it's been like that for a long time. It doesn't rattle. leak. or come apart. It just has a crack - enough said. As my wife and I have other bikes and are getting older every year. we've decided to sell some of them. I hate to see this go. but I hope someone buys and rides it. It's a great bike to ride. With the easily attach and detach saddlebags. the rear luggage rack. and the reliability of this BMW. you could anywhere on this motorcycle. It is that good. Buyer must make own arrangements for shipping. I will help if needed. It has a clear Georgia title. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
