Description

Hi. have up for auction. BMW's only cruiser they ever made. a 2001 BMW R1200C (Phoenix model) with a low 24. 71 miles. They were manufactured from 1998-2004. These boxer engines are simple and run forever so it's barely broken in. It has been very well maintained. It had a complete service at 16K miles including a new gas tank (beautifully painted to match). fuel pump/filter. with fuel hoses and clamps. Receipts available. The ABS and brake lines were flushed. The engine. tranny and rear end fluids were also changed. The valves were adjusted. All work performed by Lone Star BMW in Austin TX. All oils were changed again at 21K miles by me. This is a wonderful bike to ride. very comfortable and easy. Cruise it at 4000 rpm and she's very happy and responsive! It pulls to 5000 RPM strongly.  The bike runs fantastic and gets thumbs up and compliments wherever I go. It has plenty of low end torque and is relatively lightweight at 550 lbs. . handles great and is very easy to move around. I think the Phoenix is the best looking of the 1200C's with the beautiful BMW alloy wheels (great shape). nbsp;auxiliary lights. comfort rear seat. ABS. 2 level heated grips. chrome factory engine guards. stylish fly screen. and two tone yellow/graphite paint scheme. The seats have regularly been treated with leather conditioner and are in great condition. The rear seat is super comfortable for a passenger with a sturdy chrome grab bar. It's always been on a trickle charger. the battery's about 1. 5 years old and in great shape. It fires right up and idles smoothly. Paint is in excellent condition as is the chrome. Always polished/waxed with every wash. There are some normal slight scratches/chips to be expected with age.  I have really enjoyed this bike but regretfully must sell. I have added the following very desirable items:1) Very loud Steibel horn with relay2) Oilable air cleaner (better quality than K&N)3) Very high quality stainless quick connect fuel fittings. This makes removing the tank a snap. 4) Waterproof Garmin motorcycle GPS with super strong mount. 5) Booster Plug (really helped performance) Read about it at booster plug dot com6) Custom stainless plate mounted to handlebar that houses two 12V Powerlet outlets. One I use for the GPS. the other is open for heated gloves. etc. 7) Very nice chrome lighted handlebar clock. 8) Very high quality Nelson-Rigg cover. The bike was always garaged up until a few months ago. 9) Saddleman large front fork bag (lots of storage for smaller trips). 10) 2 locks under the license plate for helmet. jacket. etc. 11) Full Service Manual on CD. 12) Direct (wired to battery) 12V jack for quick connect of trickle charger.  13) See thru tranny sight plug for easy check of oil condition. 14) Very nice Bikers's Choice chrome tach. with very cool blue backlight.  15) Upgraded Version 3 rear taillight (the originals always cracked)16) High output headlight bulb. I may have forgotten some stuff but I have lovingly cared for this bike and it kills me to sell it. The tires are Shinko (Yokohama) and have about 2500 miles on them. With the factory options and my add ons you get one excellent deal for the BIN price. These bikes may become collectors bikes as this is BMW's only venture into the cruiser world and was featured in a James Bond movie. This has BMW quality all over it with the safety of ABS brakes. I have always used Amsoil synthetic oil. I had a very low speed (5 mph) drop on the left side so there is some minor scraping on lower left muffler (see pic. not very visible). There is some minor scraping on the left mirror. front/rear turn signals and engine guard. The rear left signal became loose. It works fine though. Also. the auxiliary lights are not working. I had this problem before. the wires to it are just too short and break. I think my fix broke again. There is power to the switch so I know it's not the fuse. This is a fairly common problem on these and a longer wire should be spliced in. Not a very hard fix at all. I just don't feel like doing it since I'm selling the bike. The factory mufflers (other than the described scrape are in great condition as are the head pipes. I will be listing shortly a wonderful set of aftermarket mufflers that look similar to factory but have much more bark and added performance. They are in mint condition. This bike is ready for a new owner. My reserve is very reasonable and please call or email with any questions. I will not of course pay to ship. but will help you in any way I can. PLEASE. serious bidders only. Thanks for looking. Erwin512-736-4616
