BSA 650 Lightning 1973 OIF model,Mikuni carbs,Borrani alloy rims,lovely bike

My lovely old oil in frame BSA 650 Lightning. she's a conker !I bought this Beeza in 2006 and have been tinkering ever since.  The list of works and parts I have done is as follows :Aquire and fit an American spec tank . still got the UK spec tank which will go with the bike. Strip and repaint the tank and side panels . new decals . laquered over. Fit new complete wiring loom. New indicators . ll bulbs replaced. Swap original bars for wider US spec bars . new grips. Replace knackered Amals with new Mikunis . new throttle cables . Electronic ignition with new coils. New TT100 on rear . but now 6 years old but virtually unworn . New petrol taps and inline filters very recently. I've fitted an oil pressure gauge . the oil light switch is retained and working. I'm in the classic car and bike restoration business ( 30 years now ) . I did the paintwork myself using modern 2 pack paint materials. I left the frame alone as its pretty fair. I never intended to restore the bike to concours . so I haven't . Overall . its very nice though . A few nuts . bolts and washers could do with replacement . and . f course . you could go further than that . but she's lovely as is and you wouldn't be afraid to use it as is . maybe not if it were as new. The carbs need half a days tinkering to dial in to be spot on . but she starts well and pulls well . I've got lots of spare jets for the carbs . somebody who knows what they are doing will get her cock on in pretty short time. The original green card log book is present . currently 'taxed' with DVLA as I've been using the old girl on and off ( more off than on though ). There are some spares . the original tank . handlebars . plus other bits and bobs . all will be included in this auction.  Viewing welcome . as are any questions . just call me (Alex) on 07930 996074.
