History: Included documentation as provided by the Gold Star Owners Club. Great Britain Registrar shows that this bike dispatched to Hap Alzina. USA in Clubman trim on 4 December 1954 with engine number CB34GS308 and frame number CB32 1694.   A copy of the original factory Engine Brake Test is also supplied and shows this bike was tested in clubman configuration and produced a maximum B. H. P. of 38. 2 at 6500 rpm fitted with a GP carb on Oct 21. 1954.

Originally owned by Dick Mann. nbsp;it was sold to Bruce Stevens. Richmond. CA as indicated on a BOS dated August 1989 (see pics).   I have confirmed the sale to Bruce with Dick via a phone conversation in Feb 2013.  The bike was then sold to Maryl (last name withheld to protect privacy) of Napa. Ca who sold it to me on Feb 9. 2013.   The bike came to me about 80% restored with zero miles on the Nisonger restored clock.   I had the tank stripped and painted by Don Hutchinson May 6. 2013.   An Amal monobloc was on the bike when I purchased it.   I sent the monobloc to Andy Hardan in Snohomish. WA for re-sleeving.   For more authenticity I fitted a 10TT9 carb in June of 2013.   The front end has been rebuilt using Paul Goff supplied Multi-rate fork springs and Eddie Dow style dampers.   The fork tubes & seals are new and supplied by British Cycle Supply. NJ.

At top dead center on compression the kickstarter will support my 180 lbs without budging.   A leak down test will reveal the engine is tight with no leakage.   The bike runs strong with either the monobloc or TT carb installed.   Both are tuned for the bike.   My plan was to convert to forward controls and standard bars but circumstances dictate that I sell.   Included in the auction is everything needed to convert to forward controls and standard bars/levers if desired.   All conversion parts are OEM and include: standard European bars. clutch and break levers. forward foot pegs. correct rear engine mounting bold. left side rear break lever. and left/right headlight ears.   Shift pattern is now 1 up and 4 down with shifter facing rearward.   To convert simply loosen and rotate  shifter to point forward.   This changes shift pattern to 1 down/4 up.   Nova will sell a cam plate to allow you to maintain 1 up/4 down when shifter is in forward position if you desire.

Also included in the auction is the original Lucas Mag/Dyno with new points installed.   There is nothing wrong with this mag/dyno.   I ran the bike with the Lucas installed for approximately 300 miles before installing the BTH.   I installed the BTH because I wanted the ability to set timing and forget about it and the advance curve.   I ran a BTH in my Velocette and loved it.   Note that the tag (see pics) on the BTH indicates Lucas.   BTH Components goes out of their way to retain authenticity in appearance.   The BTH is solid state and makes starting a breeze and allows the bike to idle nicely with the monobloc installed.   The TT carb is a racing carb and does not have an idle adj/stop screw. however. when up to running temp the bike does idle nicely with the TT.   There is also an original BSA tool kit included.   I did not take pics of the tool kit but can do upon request.

I installed the Nova Racing gear cluster because I was unhappy with the ratios of the original scrambler box in the rolling hills here in Northern California.   It doesn't get any sweeter than a Nova 5 spd.   The clutch plates are near new with very little use.   I have put less than 1500 miles on the bike since installing the TT carb. Nova 5 spd. and BTH mag.

The exhaust rocker spindle on the feed side will weep oil as the engine comes up to temp. The rocker spindle mod to add O-rings to correct for this has not been done on this bike.   It was my plan to send the spindles to Phil Pearson Engineering and I have discussed this mod with him.   The mod is on his price list. check it out: http://www. bsagoldstar. co. uk/default. html.   Otherwise the engine is oil tight.   Everything works and there are no issues with the bike. it is ready to ride.   I have shop manuals and a fair amount of Gold Star period literature that is also included.   All receipts provided with bike.

This is essentially a new CB34 Gold Star with original engine and frame numbers as shipped from the factory in 1954.   The bike has been well cared for and is in pristine condition.   Don't hesitate to ask questions or contact me: (brumohr AT avisp DOT com).   The title is clear and in my name.   It is registered in the state of California and expires in Feb this year.   I will most likely non-op the bike if it does not sell before Feb 16 as I am unable to ride it due to health issues.   Payment would be by personal or bank/cashiers check and must clear before the bike is released.   No paypal.   Shipping left to buyer but I will assist in loading the bike.

Happy bidding and thanks for looking.

Bob.
