BSA B33 1957
I bought this bike about 6 years ago as a project and spent 3 years rebuilding it. I have had it on the road since December 2011. The rebuild was absolutely nut and bolt. every component was examined and either made good or replaced. Since then it has covered 1500 miles and has been very reliable. I have used it for visiting the Stafford show. touring round the Dales and year round day to day use. Other projects now beckon and something has to go!
Document detailsBSA B33 1957 (I bought the bike from Ron Cob Motorcycles www. roncobb. com)
VIN number EB317510
Engine number BB336260
The bike has a VMCC dating certificate and age related plate
There is one MoT (Dec 2011 to Dec 2012) after which the bike became MoT exempt
The bike is also tax exempt (insure it and ride it!)
Rebuild details
As mentioned above the rebuild was 100%. including:
Rebuilt crank
New piston and liner
Reconditioned head (inc. unleaded conversion and new valves)
Gearbox rebuild by Saddleworth Classics
New carburettor
All bearings throughout the bike replaced
Professional paint job
New fuel tank and seat
Stainless steel: spindles. fork oil seal holders. rims and spokes. Armours exhaust and silencer. many fasteners.
Triumph clutch
Mag and Dyno rebuild through Kidderminster Motorcycles
12V conversion
All chrome replated
Many new parts including handlebars. fork stanchions. brake shoes. chain & sprockets. brass fuel taps etc. etc.
Other stuff
The bike is an easy starter. To reduce handlebar clutter I have removed the choke since the rebuild and just start it on the tickler. This works fine but the choke is with the bike. along with a load of other spares. I also fitted indicators because I feel a lot safer on the road with them on! These are BMW alloy ones. which I think suit the bike well. They run off a separate fused circuit so could easily be removed if desired.
Things I should mention
1) The trip meter doesn’t zero. I had the unit professionally rebuilt through Saddleworth Classics and when I started riding the bike the fault became apparent. I have never got round to returning the unit. which will now be out of warranty. Speedometer and mileometer work fine.
2) The steering lock stopped working but there is a new one with the bike that I never got round to fitting.
3) For the first few hundred miles there was a gearbox problem whereby it usually took two dabs to go from third to fourth. I bought another box to rebuild but in the meantime the problem faded away so it didn’t get touched. Because of that I never got to the bottom of it but the spare gearbox comes with the bike.
All round a very reliable and usable bike. It is virtually in as new condition mechanically and is still very tidy after three years use.

Usual thing. please remember you are bidding to buy. not to look. If you need to view the bike before buying please do so before you bid. I will not end the auction early as it is unfair on other bidders.
Payment by cash on collection (or in advance by bank transfer or cheque. though these would need to clear before collection). Possible delivery at cost but payment required before I set off with the bike.
Sensible reserve.
Thank you for looking.
