BSA D3 Bantam 1957

This is a BSA D3 Bantam despatched to Jempsons of Eastbourne. Sussex in November 1957 and has been in dry storage for 40 years. This bike is the ideal project with the engine turning over - however we haven’t had it running yet as it doesn’t seem to have a spark. The body work in good condition for its age (as seen in photos). SELLING AS NOT RUNNING - IDEAL PROJECT.

It has taken almost 18 months to investigate and provide evidence. to the DVLA. nbsp;of the validity of the original number - "FHC 497" (non-transferable. ) This was supported by the BSA owners club. We were issued the new V5 in my name on 2 October 2014 (which is the date they used for 'date of first registration' of the bike. )  But we have historical documentation from the BSA Owners Club to support its true age.   Due to the length of time it has taken to sort this. my circumstances have changed and I am now reluctantly selling the bike.

There is some confusion as to whether it is a 125cc or 150cc.   It was agreed with the BSA Owners Club to register it as a 125cc pending further investigation. Changes could then subsequently be made to documentation.   So I am not sure if it is a 125cc or a 150cc.
