1962 Ariel Leader 250cc, (AJS, BSA, Douglas, Norton, Triumph owners will love!)

The Leader was a popular bike in England. It was never imported to the USA so chances are you will never see another one. I bought this Ariel as a present for my wife. In a year and half she has never embraced it! She now has an old Honda Dream so it is time for the Ariel to go! When I bought the bike it had been freshly "restored". The paint is not to a high standard. Mechanically it seems quite sound. Since we have never really used it I never went through the trouble of getting a CA title. The description says Clear because the other options didn't seem any more accurate. This bike is being sold bill-of-sale. Copies of all customs paperwork will be included. A couple of months ago I did take it for a fairly robust ride (looking over my shoulder for the Highway Patrol) I started easily. rode well and had some good pep. The 2-cylindar 250cc two-stroke engine was quite sufficient. I think I rode it up to about 50 mph. I rode about 25 miles that day. Pretty much all of the miles on the rebuilt speedometer. That is the only time I have ever used it. The original UK number plates go with the bike and it has it's original owners manual. It includes the ignition key and two keys that open the glove box. The glove box is fairly large and can hold the 2-stroke oil and a few other things. Please don't bid on it unless you plan on completing the transaction.
